Please Pray as a Final Decision Approaches

Prayer Partner
Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me regarding the job opportunity I shared previously. Your prayers, encouragement, and messages have meant more to me than I can adequately express. Knowing that others are standing with me before the Lord has been a great source of strength during this waiting season.

I would like to ask for your continued prayers as I expect a decision to be made next week regarding this position. I have been pursuing this opportunity since June, and after several rounds of interviews, I remain hopeful that God is at work.

Please join me in praying that God would grant me favor with those making the final decision. Pray that my experience, abilities, character, and the conversations from the interview process would be remembered clearly and positively. Pray that any remaining discussions, approvals, or decisions would come together according to His perfect will and timing.

I would also ask for prayer for my faith. If I am being honest, this has been a difficult season. Earlier this year, I received a job offer that was later rescinded, and that experience was deeply discouraging. Because of that disappointment, and because so much is riding on this opportunity for my future and my family, it has become increasingly difficult at times to remain steadfast and confident while I wait.

Yet I continue to hold on to God's promises and to His faithfulness.

Please pray that I will trust the Lord with all my heart and not lean on my own understanding. Pray that He will replace anxiety with peace, discouragement with hope, and uncertainty with confidence in His provision. Pray that I will remain faithful regardless of the outcome, while also asking boldly for God to open this door if it is His will.

As Psalm 90:17 says:

"May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us."

Please pray that God's favor would rest upon this opportunity, that He would establish the work of my hands, and that He would open this door if it is the path He has prepared for me. May every conversation, every decision, and every circumstance align with His purpose.

Thank you again for your prayers and support. I am deeply grateful for each of you and for the privilege of having fellow believers stand with me in prayer.

We thank you for sharing this update with us and for allowing us to continue standing with you before the Lord in this season of waiting. We rejoice with you that you have remained hopeful after pursuing this opportunity since June and through several rounds of interviews, and we understand how heavy this wait has become, especially with so much riding on this for your future and your family, and after the deep discouragement of having an offer rescinded earlier this year. We count it a privilege to bring your request before our Father together and to ask for His perfect will to be done in your life.

We join you in praying that God would grant you favor with those making the final decision next week. We pray that your experience, abilities, character, and every conversation from the interview process would be remembered clearly and positively, and that every remaining discussion and approval would come together according to His purpose. As you quoted, we pray Psalm 90:17 over you, May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us, establish the work of our hands for us. We also pray Colossians 3:23 over your work, that whatever you do, you will work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, and we trust that He directs the steps of those who love Him, for Psalm 37:23 says The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way.

We also lift up your faith in this difficult season, for we know waiting can wear on the heart. The disappointment you experienced earlier this year is real, and it is understandable that confidence has wavered at times. We pray that the Lord will replace your anxiety with His peace and your discouragement with hope. We are reminded of Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We pray Proverbs 3:5-6 over you as you asked, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And we cling to the promise of Romans 8:28, that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose, and Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Even if the door does not open as we hope, we know He is still establishing the work of your hands and providing for you and your family according to Philippians 4:19 and Matthew 6:33.

We noticed that your request speaks of God and the Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name that we can boldly bring every request, including this job opportunity, before the throne of grace.

We pray together now, Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for Your faithfulness and for this dear one who has waited so faithfully since June. Lord, we ask that Your favor would rest upon this opportunity and upon every person involved in the final decision. Bring to their minds all that is good and true about this applicant, and let every conversation and approval align with Your perfect will and timing. Grant peace that surpasses understanding to guard this heart and mind, replace anxiety with confidence in Your provision, and strengthen faith to remain steadfast regardless of the outcome. We boldly ask You to open this door if it is the path You have prepared, and if not, we ask You to establish the work of his hands elsewhere and provide abundantly for his family, for You know his needs. Help him to trust You with all his heart, to seek first Your Kingdom, and to rest in the knowledge that You are working all things for good. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to hold fast to His promises, to remain in prayer and in the Word, and to keep seeking Him daily while you wait. We are standing with you, asking boldly while also submitting to His perfect will, confident that He who has begun a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.

Thank you for sharing this update with us. We have been praying with you since June, and we can hear how heavy this final week of waiting feels, especially carrying the memory of that rescinded offer from earlier this year. It makes sense that hope and anxiety are tangled together right now when so much for you and your family feels like it rests on one decision.

As you wait for next week, one thing that has helped others in a long stretch like this is to give the worry a contained place. You might choose a brief time each day to bring this job and your family before the Lord together with us, and then intentionally turn your attention back to the work and people right in front of you. It does not make the uncertainty disappear, but it can keep the waiting from taking over every hour. And if the tension builds, please keep close to a trusted friend or pastor who can sit with you in it.

Father, we bring our brother before You in Jesus' name. You see his work, his character, and every conversation he has had in this process. We ask for Your favor with those deciding, for clarity and fairness in their deliberations, and for Your peace to guard his heart. Help him to trust You more deeply each day, and to know You will provide and establish his steps according to Your perfect will. Amen.

We have heard your request and we join with you in bringing it before the throne of grace with thankfulness for the faith you have shown in this long waiting season.

You have waited since June, and you have known the bitterness of a hope deferred when an offer was rescinded. Such disappointments press heavily upon the spirit, yet they do not mean that you are forgotten. Behold how the heart of God yearns towards His people, and how He waits to be gracious unto us. Though our plans break down and our strength fails, we find the Lord lovingly waiting, graciously waiting, a God ready to pardon and ready to provide. He is mighty in strength and wisdom and despises not any, and therefore He despises not your prayer nor your person. Your waiting is not unseen by Him who numbers our days and establishes the work of our hands.

We will pray that the favour of the Lord our God may rest upon you according to that word you have loved, Psalm 90:17. We ask that if it be His perfect will, He would grant you favour with those who make the final decision, that your experience and character and every conversation in this process would be remembered with clarity and kindness, and that every remaining discussion and approval would be ordered by His providence. Yet we pray even more that you may be among that waiting people of whom it is written, Blessed are all they that wait for Him. God's waiting people wait only upon God. They are not trusting to the arm of flesh, nor looking to the changeable creature, but they say with the Psalmist, My soul, wait thou only upon God.

We pray also for your faith in this trial, that the God of peace Himself would give you peace. There is a peace of God which passes all understanding, which is first peace with God through the blood of the everlasting covenant, and then a consequent peace in the little kingdom within. It is a solid and abiding peace, founded on eternal truth and guaranteed by the God of holiness. May He replace your anxiety with that peace, your discouragement with hope, and your uncertainty with a quiet confidence that He who has begun a good work will complete it. May you be enabled to trust the Lord with all your heart and not lean upon your own understanding, believing that whether He opens this door or in His wisdom keeps it shut, He does all things well and will withhold no good thing from them that walk uprightly.

We ask the Lord to keep you faithful regardless of the outcome, and yet to give you boldness to ask largely at His hand, for He delights to hear the earnest desires of His children. May every conversation, every decision, and every circumstance be made to align with His purpose, and may you know, even in the waiting, that the Lord is at hand to comfort and to establish you.

We stand with you and your family before the Lord, asking that His will be done and that His name be glorified in your life and labour.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
