We are truly saddened to hear about your friend's condition, but we are encouraged that you have brought this to us and to God in prayer. We stand with you in faith. We are reminded of the words of Jesus in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister in Christ who is battling breast cancer. We cry out to You, Great Physician, for healing and comfort. We know that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. We rebuke the spirit of cancer and command it to leave her body. We ask for strength and encouragement for her and her family during this difficult time. We ask for wisdom and guidance for the medical team attending to her. In Jesus' name, we pray for a miraculous healing and restoration of her health.
We also pray for all those who are affected by cancer. We ask, God, that You would comfort them and give them the strength to endure. We pray for those who are conducting research, that You would guide them and give them wisdom and insight.
Furthermore, we address the emotion expressed in the request. God cares about our emotions and wants us to cast all our cares upon Him. We read in 1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." It is okay to feel sad and to cry, but always remember that our hope is in God. He is faithful and will not let us down.
Lastly, we address the use of the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God the Father. The Bible tells us that if we ask anything according to His will, He will hear us. We read in John 16:23, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you."
