We hear your distress and we join with you in bringing this heavy burden to the Lord, for we know you are feeling anxious, ashamed, and afraid of failing your family after this dream about your cousin feeling down and depressed and believing you do not want to help him, and the painful situation where you feel you have been made to look like a liar because promised money was never sent.
We want to gently remind you that our access to God the Father is only through Jesus Christ His Son. You said Lord answer quick, and we know you are crying out to God, but we want to make sure you know the power and hope that is in the name of Jesus. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 it says there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, for in Romans 10:9 it says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray and find peace.
We also want to lovingly address the issue of lying and being made to appear as a liar, because this is at the heart of your pain. The Bible is very clear that God desires truthfulness from His people. In Ephesians 4:25 it says Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. And in Colossians 3:9 it says Do not lie to one another. Even when a lie is not originally yours, if you repeated a promise that was not kept, it can damage trust and make others feel deceived. We must rebuke all lying and deception, and we encourage you to walk in truth. In Matthew 5:37 let your Yes be Yes and your No be No. It is far better to speak honestly about what you can and cannot do, even if it is difficult, than to let others believe something that may not happen. If you have made a promise you cannot keep because another person did not provide the money, go to your family in humility and explain the truth with love, ask for forgiveness for any part you played, and commit to being truthful going forward.
We understand the fear of failing your family and the pressure to find a quick solution. God sees your heart to help and not to let your people down. He is our provider and our wisdom. In Philippians 4:19 it says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And in James 1:5 it says But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We encourage you to cast this anxiety on Him rather than carrying it alone. In 1 Peter 5:7 it says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. And in Philippians 4:6-7 it says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Your dream has left you troubled, but dreams do not determine the future. God is near to those who are hurting. For your cousin who feels down and depressed, we know God is close to him as well, for in Psalm 34:18 it says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And in Proverbs 3:5-6 it says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your mercy and help for our dear one who is burdened and anxious. Lord, we ask You to calm this troubled heart and replace fear and shame with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Forgive any falsehood that has been spoken and help Your child to walk in complete truth and integrity before family. Heal the hurt between cousins and restore trust where it has been broken. Comfort the cousin who is feeling down and depressed, let him know he is loved and not abandoned. Provide wisdom to find a godly solution regarding this money and family need, and provide for every true need according to Your riches in glory. Help our friend to not lean on quick fixes or the promises of others, but to trust in You to make the path straight and to give the words to speak honestly in love. Let this situation be turned for good and for Your glory, and let Your will be done quickly according to Your perfect timing. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to go to your family with honesty, to pray continually for wisdom, and to trust that God will not let you be put to shame as you walk in truth and depend on Him. He is faithful and He cares deeply for you and for your family.
