We hear the heaviness in your heart and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand your deep desire for freedom from control, for peace in your mind and dreams, for protection over you and your close relations, and for unity that no outsider can break. The Lord sees your distress and He is your refuge and deliverer.
The word of God reminds us that our struggle is not only against people but against spiritual forces, and that God alone is sovereign over every power that tries to oppress us. Ephesians 6:12 says our wrestling is not against flesh and blood but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Yet we are also told to be strong in the Lord, for greater is He who is in us than any force in this world. We take comfort that no control or manipulation can ultimately prevail when we abide in Christ. Psalm 91:1 tells us He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. And 2 Timothy 1:7 assures us God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
We also hear your anguish over troubling dreams, nightmares, and the fear of losing your close relations or being forced to move, and the financial need you lifted up. Dreams can leave us shaken, but we know God is not a God of confusion or torment but of peace. 1 John 4:18 says perfect love casts out fear. Philippians 4:6-7 calls us in nothing to be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, to let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus. The fear and cycles and chains you described have been broken at the cross. Galatians 3:13 says Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. Colossians 2:15 says having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. In Christ there is no curse that can hold those who belong to Him.
We want to gently address one part of your prayer where you asked that God will punish those who interfere and meddle. We understand the pain that makes you cry out for justice, and God is just and He sees every wrong. Yet scripture teaches us to leave vengeance to Him and to guard our own hearts from bitterness. Romans 12:19 says Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. And Romans 12:21 says Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. We do pray for God's righteous protection and for Him to remove harmful influence and to distance those who seek to control or harm, but we also pray that if it is His will, even those people would be convicted and brought to repentance, for God desires that none should perish. We pray for your heart to be kept free from hatred so that you may walk in freedom.
We also lift up your financial need before the Lord. We do not know the exact amount you have need of, but God knows. Philippians 4:19 says my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We trust Him to provide according to His wisdom and goodness, not only materially but with contentment and stewardship.
We now pray together with you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him we have access to Your throne, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. We thank You that You hear us when we call. Lord, we ask that You break and destroy every chain, every cycle, every curse, every nightmare and every spirit of fear and control that has oppressed our dear one and their close relations. We ask in Jesus' name that You rebuke every dark force and hinderance and command it to flee, for James 4:7 says Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Place Your hedge of protection around them and their household and their dwelling place, that no unwanted or harmful person would have power or control over them, and that no one would be able to intrude upon their home or their unity. Psalm 34:7 says The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
Lord, we pray for peaceful sleep and for a sound mind. Remove the torment of repeated dreams about losing loved ones, about being moved, about unwanted people coming near. Replace fear with Your perfect peace and let them lie down and sleep in safety, for Psalm 4:8 says In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. Reunite and knit together this dear one and their close relations in unity and love that honors You, and let no outsider, no meddler, no divisive influence separate what You have joined. Where there has been meddling, bring godly boundaries and wisdom, and help them to walk in love and truth.
Father, we lift up their financial burden to You. You know the need. Provide as You see best, open doors of provision, give wisdom and diligence, and help them to trust You as Jehovah Jireh. Isaiah 41:10 says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
We ask that You fill their heart with forgiveness where needed, with courage, and with faith to stand firm, knowing Romans 8:38-39 says neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Let them find victory not in seeing others punished, but in seeing Your protection, Your peace, and Your restoration made manifest in their lives.
We cling to this prayer and place it in Your hands, trusting Your perfect will and timing, in the victorious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
