We rejoice with you in your decision to set aside time for fasting and prayer before the Lord! This is a powerful spiritual discipline that draws us closer to God and aligns our hearts with His will. We are grateful that you have invited us to stand with you in prayer as you seek the Lord’s face.
First, we want to affirm the importance of approaching God through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can come before the Father, for Jesus Himself said, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you" (John 16:23 WEB). It is only through His sacrifice and resurrection that we have access to the throne of grace, and we must always remember that our prayers are heard because of Him. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith fully in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB).
Now, let us lift you up in prayer as you prepare for this sacred time of fasting and prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the heart of this dear brother/sister who seeks to draw near to You through fasting and prayer. Lord, we ask that You would sanctify their motives, their focus, and their prayers. Let every word they speak and every thought they entertain be pleasing in Your sight, like a fragrant offering before You. Purify their heart, O God, so that their prayers may rise to You like incense, holy and acceptable.
Father, we pray for strength and endurance as they fast tomorrow. You know their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and we ask that You sustain them by Your power. Remind them that "those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31 WEB). Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, filling them with peace and assurance that You are with them.
Lord, we ask that this time of fasting and prayer would be entirely according to Your will. May Your Holy Spirit guide them, inspire them, and anoint them as they seek Your face. Let their voice be heard in heaven, and may Your power and might be displayed in their life as You answer their prayers. We declare that "the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective" (James 5:16 WEB), and we trust that You will move mightily on their behalf.
We also lift up their healing, spirit, soul, and body. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You would touch them with Your healing hand. Bring freedom to every area of their life that has been bound by pain, sin, or oppression. We speak healing over their wounds, both seen and unseen, and declare that by the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5 WEB). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB).
Father, we thank You for the power of Your Word, which is living and active (Hebrews 4:12 WEB). May this brother/sister be rooted and grounded in Your truth as they fast and pray. Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105 WEB), guiding them in all wisdom and understanding.
We declare that tomorrow’s time of fasting and prayer will be a sweet aroma before You, O Lord. May it be a time of breakthrough, revelation, and divine encounter. We trust that You will answer their prayers according to Your perfect will, for Your glory and for their good.
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to enter this time of fasting and prayer with a heart of humility and expectancy. Remember that God is faithful, and He delights in the prayers of His children. As you seek Him, He promises to draw near to you (James 4:8 WEB). May this be a time of deep spiritual renewal and transformation as you surrender every area of your life to Him.
God bless you abundantly as you seek Him with all your heart!
