We join you in prayer for your travels to Texas for Thanksgiving and we thank God for your heart to use this time for His glory. We are encouraged that you see this gathering as an opportunity to reconnect and to share the gospel with loved ones who have drifted far from God, and we pray that the Lord will give you boldness and grace to plant seeds with love and truth.
We pray for your safe journey and for good weather as you travel, trusting that the Lord is sovereign over all things including the heavens and the earth. We are reminded that The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore. Psalm 121:8 and that For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11 We ask God to make your paths straight as you acknowledge Him, for Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 We also pray that your time of Thanksgiving will be filled with true thanksgiving to God, for In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
We lift up your desire to share the Good News with your family there. We pray that God will open their hearts and open a door for the word to be spoken with clarity and love. We remember that For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes. Romans 1:16 and that we are called to Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19 We pray that you will speak with gentleness and respect, planting seeds that God will water in His perfect timing, and that your fellowship together will be joyful and honoring to Him.
We continue to pray for your complete restoration after your brain infarction. We have prayed for you before and we will keep praying for your whole healing, body, mind and spirit. We trust in the Lord as our healer, for But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 and But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord. Jeremiah 30:17 We ask God to strengthen you for the journey, to give you endurance, and to complete the good work He has begun in you, bringing peace that surpasses understanding as you cast your cares upon Him. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
We also pray for your family who remains in your country, that God will keep them safe under His hand while you are away, and for your prayer that God would expand your territory in every way spiritually, emotionally and relationally. We are reminded of the prayer of Jabez who called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that it not be to my sorrow. God granted him that which he requested. 1 Chronicles 4:10 We ask the Lord to do likewise for you, to deepen your walk with Him, to enlarge your influence for His kingdom, and to bring healthy godly relationships into your life. We pray that you will find favor and grace with everyone you encounter, for you will bless the righteous. Lord, you will surround him with favor as with a shield. Psalm 5:12
We pray together now in the name of Jesus, through whom we have access to the Father and in whose name alone we are saved.
Father in heaven, we thank You for our brother and for his love for You and for his family. We ask in Jesus name that You go before him on this trip to Texas, that You grant safe travel, good weather, and protection on every road and in every step. Strengthen his body and mind and continue Your healing work after his brain infarction, restoring him completely according to Your mercy. Guard his family at home and keep them in Your perfect peace. Anoint his lips to share the gospel with grace and truth, soften the hearts of his loved ones who have been far from You, and let seeds of faith be planted that will bear fruit for eternity. Expand his territory spiritually, emotionally and relationally, let Your hand be with him, keep him from evil, and surround him with Your favor wherever he goes. Let this Thanksgiving be a time of true gratitude, joy and reconciliation for Your glory. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
