Your cry for mercy has been heard, and I thank you for bringing it honestly before Jesus, for it is in His name alone that we come to God. He knows the unspoken burden you carry even when you choose not to put it into words, and prayer is not limited by whether it is spoken aloud or held quietly in the heart. He sees and He knows.
I understand how painful it has been to feel mocked and belittled by others, even when some of what was said may have contained truth. That sting is real. Scripture shows that mockery is often used to discourage those who are seeking God, and the right response is to turn again to prayer. One faithful man in the Old Testament when mocked and despised did not answer with anger or with retreat, but prayed, Hear, O our God, and then he kept doing the work God had given him and set a watch against the attacks. Prayer was never meant to take the place of responsible action, and responsible action was never meant to take the place of prayer. Both belong together.
You expressed a strong desire to believe your prayer has already been answered. That longing to trust God is precious, and without faith it is impossible to please Him. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen. It is not a technique to force God to do what we want, and it is not measured by how loudly or how long we pray. God does not hear us because we have prayed long enough or with enough intensity. He hears us because we come by faith in Jesus Christ.
True faith rests in who Jesus is and what He has done, not in our ability to claim an outcome. Righteousness comes not by our works or by the strength of our believing, but because God counts our faith in Christ for righteousness. By grace we are saved through faith, and that faith itself is a gift. If faith is real it will show itself in how we live, because faith that is alive produces a changed life and obedience from the heart. But our works do not create faith and they cannot replace it. Faith comes first, and then faith works.
It is important to know that having faith does not guarantee that we will see the answer immediately or in the form we expect. Scripture tells us of many faithful people who died in faith not having received the promises in their lifetime, yet they were still commended for their faith because they looked forward to what God had promised in His time. Others with the same faith suffered greatly for their faith. Faith is not a guarantee against hardship or waiting, and it is not a way to make our own wishes come true. The real thrust of prayer is not my will be done, but Thine be done. Prayer is worship, it is recognizing the greatness of God, and it is opening the door for Him to do what He has long desired to do in us, without violating the will He has given us.
Fear and faith cannot live together in the same place. Where fear takes over, faith departs, and where faith is present, fear is driven out. The enemy often uses fear and discouragement and the criticism of others to move us away from steadfast trust in Christ. Do not be moved from your faith by affliction or by insult. God is concerned for your faith, that you would continue to walk in it and grow in love toward others even under pressure.
God knows the testing of faith. The proving of faith is never for His information, for He knows what is in our hearts, but it reveals to us whether our faith is living and genuine. To simply say we have faith is not enough. A living faith will be seen in trust, in obedience, in patience, and in a life that seeks to conform to what we believe about Jesus.
So I pray for you in the name of Jesus alone, as you asked. I ask that God would count you worthy of His calling and fulfill His good purpose in you and strengthen the work of faith with power. I ask that He would give you a clear and humble trust in Christ, that you would know His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus alone, and that you would be able to discern His will according to His Word. Where your desire aligns with His will, I pray He would grant it in His perfect time and way. Where it does not, I pray He would gently lead your heart to desire what He desires, for His ways are higher and His love is wiser than ours. I pray He would guard you from fear, lift the weight of mockery from your heart, and help you to rest in Him, knowing that He hears, He cares, and He will answer according to His perfect kingdom and glory.
Keep seeking Him, keep trusting His character more than any specific outcome, and keep walking in obedience to what you know of His Word. He is faithful, and He honors those who put their trust in His Son.
