Memory-The Handmaid of Hope
We join you in fasting and prayer today and we thank you for bringing your youngest daughter before the Lord with such love and concern. We lift her up together in Jesus name and ask for God's will to be done in every area of her life.

We pray for her nursing school work. Nursing school is demanding and requires diligence and endurance, and we ask the Lord to give her wisdom, understanding, and strength to do all things well for His glory. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3. We ask God to help her steward her studies with excellence and to give her clarity of mind, memory, and focus as she learns to care for others.

We also must speak lovingly about her driving there and back on no sleep. We understand the pressure she is under, but we urge her and you to treat sleep and safety as stewardship of the body God has given. Don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you 1 Corinthians 6:19. Driving without sleep puts her life and the lives of others at great risk, and the Lord calls us to walk in wisdom and not in presumption. We pray Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forward and forevermore Psalm 121:8, and we also pray for practical wisdom to plan rest, to seek help, to adjust her schedule, or to avoid driving when exhausted. We ask Jesus to be her covering 24 hours a day as you said, for He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1, and He will give His angels charge over you to guard you in all your ways Psalm 91:11.

We lift up her mind, her trauma, her past relationships, her depression and her desire to isolate. We know the Lord sees her pain and He is near to those who hurt. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We pray that God will heal her mind and renew it day by day. Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2. We ask Him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to replace fear and heaviness with His peace. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

Where past relationships have brought trauma, we pray for deep healing and forgiveness and for restoration of purity. If there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we gently rebuke that because Scripture calls us to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to honor God with our bodies, for fornication wounds the soul and hinders fellowship with Him. Yet we rejoice that If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins 1 John 1:9, and He makes us new. We pray that going forward any courtship she enters would be with a fellow believer in Christ with the goal of godly marriage between a man and a woman as God ordained, pursuing purity and holiness. We pray she will come to see herself as God sees her, cherished, forgiven, and covered by Jesus.

For her depression and isolation, we pray the Lord lifts the heaviness and draws her into fellowship. Cast all your worries on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. Isolation is not God's desire for her. We pray she will not forsake gathering with other believers Hebrews 10:25 and that she will allow you, her mother, and other godly people to help bear her burdens. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right Honor your father and mother Ephesians 6:1-2, and we pray God will bring her closer to you so you can encourage, counsel, and help her as He intends.

We join our fast to yours and we pray together, Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this precious daughter to You. Cover her with Your blood, guard her mind, heal her trauma, lift her depression, break the spirit of isolation, keep her safe on the road, give her restful sleep, grant her wisdom and endurance in nursing school, and draw her closer to You and to her mother. Let her know how much You love her and how You desire to give her hope and a future. We ask You to surround her with godly community and to lead her in purity and truth. We thank You for this mother's faithful prayers and fasting, and we trust You to answer according to Your perfect will. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We hear your heart for your youngest daughter and we are joining you in prayer today as you fast.

Carrying nursing school, past trauma, and little sleep is a heavy load, and it makes sense you are concerned about her driving back and forth exhausted and about the way she pulls away when she is low. Wanting to isolate can feel safer in the moment but it often leaves a person more alone with difficult thoughts, and wanting to stay close to her while giving her space is a hard balance to hold.

We are praying for her safety on the road, for clarity and steadiness as she studies, and for healing in her mind and heart from what she has been through. We also pray for your relationship, that God would open gentle, unpressured ways for you to stay connected so she knows you are a safe place to turn.

One practical way to love her in this season is to keep invitations simple and consistent, a brief check in, a prayer together, an offer to help with a concrete need, without requiring a long response. Alongside prayer, if her depression and desire to isolate continue, encourage her to connect with a counselor or medical provider and a trusted pastoral support for ongoing care.

Father, we lift this mother and her daughter to You. Cover this young woman with Your protection as she drives and studies, give her rest and soundness of mind, and draw her out of isolation into supportive community. Give her mother wisdom, peace, and strength as she fasts and intercedes, and draw them closer to each other and to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been laid before the Lord and we join you therein this day as you fast and seek His face. We have bowed with you and for you and for your youngest daughter, asking the Father in the name of Jesus Christ to hear and to answer according to His abundant mercy.

We bring your daughter before the great Physician concerning her labors in nursing school. The burden is heavy and sleep is scant, and you have well asked for her safety as she drives to and fro. We pray the Lord will keep her steps, watch over her going out and coming in, grant her needful rest, and give her a clear mind and steady hand for the work set before her. May He give her diligence in study and strength beyond her own, and keep her from harm on the road when weariness presses upon her.

We also bring before Him what you have named so tenderly, her mind, her depression, her trauma from past relationships, and her desire to isolate. Scripture tells us He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and that pardon and healing are joined together in Christ. When Jesus healed the man taken with palsy He said first, thy sins are forgiven thee, and healing followed from the pardoning hand. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but as it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. We pray that healing virtue may flow down to your daughter from that great conduit Head, that Christ would take her by the hand and lift her up, that He would quiet her thoughts, heal her memory of past wounds, and lift the cloud of depression. We do not ask Him to bless what is contrary to His holy way, but to wash and to heal and to make new, to lead her into purity and peace and to keep her in His covering day and night. For indeed this world is perilous, and as you have said, every woman and every soul needs the covering of Jesus at all hours. That covering is found only in Him, in His righteousness and His presence.

We pray also for reconciliation between you and your daughter, that the Lord who is the God of peace and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation would draw her closer to you in love and trust, that you may help her as a mother longs to do. May the Holy Spirit work this at once, softening hearts, opening lips, and restoring communion where distance has grown.

Take comfort that the Lord hears the importunate prayer of a parent. Keep laying her daily before Christ, leave her in His presence, and continue to seek Him in His Word, for faith comes by hearing and healing is linked with teaching. Seek the fellowship of the saints that she may not be left to isolation, but may be surrounded by those who can speak the word of reconciliation from experience.

We join our fasting to yours and pray thus, O Father, look upon this mother and her daughter. Forgive sin through the blood of Christ alone, heal the broken heart, guard the body on the road, renew the mind, and drive away the spirit of heaviness. Cover this young woman with Christ, keep her in Thy way, and knit her heart to Thee and to her mother. Grant sleep, grant strength for study, grant hope that does not make ashamed. Do this for Thy Son's sake. Amen.
