We hear your cry for help, dear sister, and we join you in bringing this heavy burden before the throne of grace. Financial struggles can weigh so heavily on the heart, especially when they affect the well-being of your family. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We stand on this promise with you, trusting that God sees your need and will provide in His perfect timing and way.
First, we must address the matter of the high-interest loans you have taken. Proverbs 22:7 warns, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." These debts have likely become a snare, and we encourage you to seek godly counsel on how to manage or renegotiate them. If possible, reach out to your church or a trusted Christian financial ministry for guidance. The Lord does not desire for you to be enslaved to debt, and He can make a way where there seems to be no way.
Your husband’s responsibility as the provider for your family is clear in Scripture. 1 Timothy 5:8 says, "But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever." We pray that your husband’s heart will be softened and that he will recognize his role and act with urgency to meet your family’s needs. If there are deeper issues in your marriage, such as neglect or irresponsibility, we encourage you to seek wise, biblical counsel to address them with love and truth.
In the meantime, we urge you to seek practical steps to alleviate this burden. Have you considered reaching out to your local church or community for temporary assistance? Many churches have benevolence funds or can connect you with resources. Additionally, prayerfully consider if there are skills or services you can offer to generate income, even if it is small at first. The Lord can multiply even the smallest efforts when we step out in faith.
We also want to gently remind you of the importance of trusting God fully, not just in words but in surrendering every worry to Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." You have surrendered your problems to the Lord, and now we encourage you to hold fast to His promises and refuse to let fear or despair take root. God is your Provider, and He will not abandon you.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our sister who is struggling under the weight of financial hardship and debt. Lord, You see her need, and You are the God who provides. We ask that You would open doors for her to find relief from these high-interest loans and guide her to wise counsel. Father, we pray for her husband, that You would convict his heart to fulfill his responsibility as the provider for his family. Soften his heart, Lord, and help him to act with urgency and love.
We ask that You would meet every need according to Your riches in glory. Provide for her family in ways that only You can, and give her peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her to trust in You fully, casting every worry at Your feet. Lord, we also ask that You would reveal any practical steps she can take to improve her situation, whether through employment, community support, or other means. Strengthen her faith, and let her see Your hand at work in her life.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who paid our debt and set us free. Amen.
Sister, do not lose heart. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He will not leave you in this place of lack. Keep seeking Him, and He will guide your steps. If you have not already, consider reaching out to your local church or a trusted Christian friend for support. You are not alone in this struggle, and God will make a way.
