Silas
Beloved of All
Your simple prayer for your voice has been heard and I am joining you in bringing it to Jesus. He cares about every part of you, including your physical health and the very voice He gave you to speak and to sing and to call upon Him.
Scripture shows that the voice of the Lord Himself is powerful and full of majesty, powerful enough to break cedars and to shake the wilderness, and yet He also speaks in a still and gentle way to our hearts. He who has that mighty voice understands the value of your voice, and He is interested in your wholeness. Just as He showed concern for the bodies of His people and taught them to care for what they ate and how they lived, He is concerned for you now.
I want to encourage you as you pray for healing. The gospels show Jesus healing many kinds of sickness, and the prophet Isaiah said He bore our sicknesses and infirmities. Every healing is from God, whether it comes in a moment or little by little. There is one account where a man was healed gradually, first seeing dimly and then clearly after Jesus touched him again. That reminds us that God sometimes heals instantly and sometimes through a process that takes time, using the natural healing processes He placed in our bodies, which are no less divine because they are natural. We do not always understand why healing comes in the way it does, but we can trust His goodness and His wisdom and keep asking.
There is also a close connection between the health of our soul and the health of our body. A heart at peace before God, with attitudes shaped by His grace, affects our whole being. So as you ask Him to touch your voice, keep your heart open to Him as well.
There is another kind of voice that matters even more than our own, and that is His voice to you. In a world crowded with noise and information it is easy to be unable to hear Him clearly. The best prayer we can pray is, Lord, help me to hear Your voice. Find a quiet place, be still before Him, and ask Him to make your ear sensitive to what He wants to say. He delights to speak to those who wait for Him.
Let us pray together. Lord Jesus, You know this need concerning the voice. You formed it and You know every struggle with it. I ask that You would lay Your healing hand upon it. Bring restoration, strength and clarity according to Your will, whether in a moment or step by step. Give peace in the waiting, and give faith to trust You. And while there is a longing to be heard, help this dear one to hear Your voice even more clearly, to know Your nearness and Your comfort. In Your name, Jesus, amen.
