Please help me with burnout

Starting to feel the signs of burnout. Lord I pray that you could reveal what things need to be taken off of my plate. Please help us with our finances. Please. In Jesus name amen

We hear the weariness in your heart and the weight of the burdens you carry, and we lift you up before the Lord with compassion and urgency. Burnout is a signal from both body and spirit that the load has become too heavy, and it is a call to seek God’s rest and wisdom. You have done well to bring this before Him, for He invites all who are weary to come to Him for rest. As it is written in **Matthew 11:28-30 (WEB)**, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."*

Your prayer for the Lord to reveal what must be removed from your plate is wise, for often we take on responsibilities—even good ones—that He never intended for us. We must also examine whether we are trusting in our own strength rather than leaning on His. **Psalm 127:1-2 (WEB)** reminds us, *"Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones."* Are there tasks, commitments, or even relationships that are not aligned with God’s purpose for you? Are there areas where you have not surrendered control to Him? The Lord may be calling you to release some things entirely, while others may simply need to be reordered under His lordship.

Finances, too, are a common source of anxiety, but we must remember that our provision comes from the Lord, not from our own striving. **Philippians 4:19 (WEB)** assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Yet this promise is not an excuse for passivity—it is an invitation to trust Him while also stewarding wisely what He has given. Have you sought His guidance in budgeting, generosity, and contentment? Are there expenses that can be reduced or eliminated? Are you tithing faithfully, trusting Him to honor His Word in **Malachi 3:10 (WEB)**? *"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this,” says Yahweh of Armies, “if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for."*

We also notice that while you closed your prayer "in Jesus’ name," the body of your request did not explicitly invoke His name or acknowledge His authority over these struggles. This is not a small matter, for **John 14:6 (WEB)** declares, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* And **Acts 4:12 (WEB)** leaves no room for ambiguity: *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Every prayer, every need, every breath must be brought before the Father *through* Jesus, our Mediator. If we neglect to center our petitions on Him, we risk treating prayer as a mere wish or positive thought rather than a holy conversation with God through Christ. Let us always approach the throne with the confidence that comes from His name alone.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up Your child before You, seeing the weight of burnout pressing upon their shoulders and the anxiety over finances gripping their heart. Lord, You are the God who sees and knows all things—nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask that You would open their eyes to the things that must be laid down, whether tasks, habits, or even misplaced trust in their own efforts. Grant them the courage to release what is not Yours for them to carry, and the wisdom to steward their time and resources according to Your will.

Father, we rebuked the spirit of fear and exhaustion that seeks to steal their peace. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (**2 Timothy 1:7**). Renew their strength, Lord, as they wait upon You (**Isaiah 40:31**). Provide for their financial needs in ways that surpass their understanding, and teach them to trust You as their Provider. Break any stronghold of worry or self-reliance, and replace it with a deep, abiding faith in Your faithfulness.

We thank You that You are already at work in this situation, for You are a God who delivers and sustains. May they feel Your presence tangibly as they rest in You. Let this season of weariness become a testimony of Your grace and provision. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, **amen.**

Finally, we encourage you to take practical steps alongside prayer:
1. **Rest intentionally**: Set aside time for Sabbath rest, even if it means saying no to good things. Jesus often withdrew to pray (**Luke 5:16**); follow His example.
2. **Seek godly counsel**: If burnout is tied to work, ministry, or family obligations, speak with a trusted believer or pastor who can help you discern what to prioritize.
3. **Examine your heart**: Are you striving to prove your worth through productivity? Your identity is in Christ alone (**Colossians 3:3**).
4. **Practice gratitude**: List the ways God has provided in the past. This shifts focus from lack to His faithfulness.
5. **Tithe faithfully**: Trust God with your finances by honoring Him first. This is an act of worship and dependence.

You are not alone in this. The body of Christ is here to uphold you, and the Lord Himself is your strength. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (**Hebrews 12:2**), and trust that He will lead you through this season into His rest.

We're here for you, friend. We see the strain you're under and we want you to know that you're not alone. Burnout is a sign that it's time to pause, listen, and let God lighten your load. Let's ask Him together to reveal what needs to change, what can be let go, and what should stay. We trust that He sees your heart and knows your needs.

Lord, we come before You today, laying our ###'s burden at Your feet. We ask that You would give them clarity to see what's weighing them down - tasks, habits, or mindsets that aren't aligned with Your purpose for them. Help them to trust You more, to let go of what they can't carry, and to find rest in You.

We also ask for Your provision in their finances. Help them to steward wisely what You've given, to be content with what they have, and to trust in Your goodness. Remind them that You are their Provider, and that You delight in blessing those who honor You with their finances.

We thank You, Lord, that You are already at work in this situation. We ask all this in Jesus' name, amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
