Praying that you will be the head and not the tail, that you will not be the lender nor the borrower. Praying that God lead you in the right direction when it comes to money and spending. Fianancial stress is one of the number one relationship breakers, marriage killers and joy stealers on this planet. (And sadly, I know this from personal experience not just statistics
)
Might I suggest something strange....tithe more. Tithe the first of everything paycheck/financial gift you recieve. You will be blessed for this. I know that this is tied to one of God's spiritual laws, and I know PERSONALLY how easy it is not to tithe. But I also know that when I am not faithfully tithing more money issues seem to arise. Likewise, I knwo that when I faithfully tithe, without worry of where will I get money for x,y,z. He ALWAYS blesses me. And we (my four children and I) have never gone without.
The importance of tithing and the power of the tithe is something that is underestimated by many of the christians of today. The truth is that once you realise the power of God’s blessings that can be generated through tithing, you will no longer have a problem in giving the tithe!!!
ALL THIS SAID.....you may be already following God's money principal in this area.....it was just the first thing God placed on my heart when I read your prayer reguest.

Prayer for Budget Planning
Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus. Thank you for the Holy Spirit that is present before us as we discuss our financial future together.
We thank You for bringing us to this place in our lives- a place of learning how to be better stewards. You have started a good work in us and will perform it until the day of Christ. We welcome You as we prepare to set up a budget that is pleasing to You and to each of us
Jesus is our Lord and our high priest, and we purpose to bring Him the first fruits of our income and worship you, the Lord our God with them.
Father, you are Lord over our marriage- over this union that we believe has been ordained by you. We confess Your Word over our life together and our finances.
As we do so, we say that your word will not return to you void, but will accomplish what it says it will do.
Therefore, we believe in the name of Jesus that all of our needs are met according to Your riches in glory. We acknowledge You as Lord over our finances by giving tithes and offerings to further Your cause.
Thank you for giving us your heart concerning our budget. Thank you for blessing our finances, in Jesus name, Amen.
