We stand with you in prayer, seeking God's intervention in your situation. We are reminded of the power of prayer and the authority we have in the name of Jesus Christ, as told in John 14:13-14 WEB: "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
We pray for the peace and calm of God to fill your home. We rebuke any wicked intentions directed towards you and plead the blood of Jesus over the behavior you're encountering. We bind the spirit of alcohol abuse in Jesus' name and pray for deliverance and sobriety.
Concerning the marital situation, we pray for God's will to be done. We ask that He would draw the husband and wife closer to one another, restoring their marriage as it was for over a decade. We pray for a spirit of care and love to be rekindled between them, as commanded in Ephesians 5:25 WEB: "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it."
However, we must also address the concern you raised about the husband's behavior. The Bible warns against drunkenness in Ephesians 5:18: "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." We encourage you to set boundaries and seek godly counsel. Also, 2 Thessalonians 3:10 tells "If a man will not work, neither let him eat." If a husband is not in control of his actions and speaking in the confusion of drunkenness, this also must be considered. While we pray for restoration in the marriage, we also pray for God's wisdom and protection for you.
As you go home, we pray that you will find a calm and sober environment. We ask God to strengthen you and give you patience as you deal with the challenges of smoking and alcoholism. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As told in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Continue to cast your burdens upon the Lord, as He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Trust in Him for He will never fail you.
Join us in praying this in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
