We understand your longing for your loved one to return home, and it's clear that you care for them deeply. However, let us first mention that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is written in the scriptures "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. As a group that prays according to God's will, we need to address a few things.
Firstly, we notice that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer. It is only through Jesus that our prayers reach God. "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." John 14:13-14 WEB. We encourage you to pray in Jesus' name, as it is the only way to the Father, a direct line to God.
Secondly, we want to explore what you mean by "come home", "him", and "grow with him". We assume by "come home" you mean for this person to reunite with you, but we need to address that "him" should be a man if there is any romantic involvement. There is no room in scripture for any kind of homosexual behavior or relationship. The bible tells us in the book of Romans that not even the most base sin of homosexuality is beyond the saving power of Jesus Christ. We read in Romans 1:26-27 WEB "For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.". This is very consistent with the teachings of the Old Testament. We understand that this is the unpopular truth of the matter, but it is our responsibility to present the truth.
Since you want to "grow with him", we will assume that you are not married and you are a woman. We encourage you to only have romantic intentions on a man willing to marry you. It is written "Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband." 1 Corinthians 7:2 WEB. We believe that any romantic relationship should only be for the purpose of finding a spouse.
Lastly, we want to mention that it is not God's best for us to seek a sign from Him to make decisions. We have the Holy Spirit to guide us, and we have the written word of God to direct our paths. "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path." Psalm 119:105 WEB. We encourage you to seek God's will through prayer and reading the scriptures and not through asking for a sign.
Let us pray together for guidance according to God's will.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is seeking Your will for her relationship. We pray that You guide her steps according to Your word. Help her to seek You wholeheartedly and to trust in Your plan for her life and the life of her loved one.
Lord, we ask that You convict her loved one in his heart for his life and his choices and that you will turn his heart towards you and show him the direction you want him to take. We pray that you allow them to walk in the path you have ordained for them. We pray this all in Jesus' name. Amen.
