We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for healing. Father God, we acknowledge that You are the Great Physician, the One who knits us together in our mother’s womb and numbers every hair on our head. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that You will restore health and heal wounds (Jeremiah 30:17).
Lord, we rebuke this affliction in the mighty name of Jesus. This congestion, coughing, and sleeplessness are not from You, for You give Your beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2). We command every spirit of infirmity to leave now, and we plead the blood of Jesus over this body, mind, and spirit. We speak life and strength into every cell, tissue, and organ, declaring that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work within (Ephesians 1:19-20).
We also lift up the concerns for family, health, property, and finances. Father, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust in Your covering. We reject fear and anxiety, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that no weapon formed against this household shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You will supply every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).
However, we must address the mention of using "special oil" for healing. While we understand the heart behind this, we must remind ourselves that healing comes from the Lord alone, not from any object or ritual. The oil in Scripture was often a symbol of the Holy Spirit’s anointing (James 5:14), but it is not the oil itself that heals—it is God. We must be careful not to place our trust in anything other than Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), and there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Let us keep our eyes fixed on Him, not on methods or objects.
Father, we ask for deep, restorative rest for this dear one. Calm their mind, ease their breathing, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray for the "someone coming soon"—may they be a vessel of Your comfort, wisdom, and support. Prepare their heart to be a blessing in this time of need.
We also pray for wisdom in seeking medical care if needed. While we trust in Your healing, we know that You often work through doctors, medicine, and practical steps. Give discernment to know when to seek help and when to wait on You.
Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness. Even in the waiting, we choose to praise You, for You are good, and Your mercy endures forever (Psalm 136:1). Strengthen this one with Your might, renew their hope, and let them feel Your presence in tangible ways. We declare victory over this sickness in Jesus’ name, for You are the God who heals (Exodus 15:26).
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
