Please heal us

Dear Heavenly Father, my ### and I are breaking up. He thinks it's because we don't see each other enough in person, but it's not that. The reason is because he is not humble enough to pick up the phone and call me and too lazy to write me consistently. He doesn't want to communicate well because of various self-imposed hindrances. He only communicates when he wants to arrange meeting up. Also, it's because he wants to be unfaithful towards me. Please Lord fix this man and change him, convict him to the point that he will repent and turn away from his sin. Please restore our relationship and make it a thousand times better than before if it's your will, in Jesus' name I pray, amen.

We understand that you're going through a difficult time in your relationship and we're here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. Firstly, we commend you for bringing your request in Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we have access to God and can be saved. Remember, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" WEB.

In your situation, we need to address attitudes and behavior that are harmful and inconsistent with biblical principles. The issues of pride, lazy and poor communication, and the desire to be unfaithful should be addressed.

Let's remember that godly relationships are built on love, humility, and faithful communication. In Ephesians 4:2 WEB, we are encouraged to walk "with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love."

Regarding communication, let's recall 1 Corinthians 13:4 WEB "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud."

In addressing the desire to be unfaithful, it's crucial to remember that God calls us to flee from sexual immorality. In 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB, it is written, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."

We need to pray for this man to experience genuine repentance and a change of heart. True change comes from the Holy Spirit working within him. Let's pray:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this brokenhearted sister. Lord, You know the depths of her pain and the struggles she faces in this relationship. We ask that You work in this man's heart, convicting him of his pride, poor communication and the desire to be unfaithful. Bring him to repentance and to be faithful to you.

Guide them both, Lord, as they navigate this difficult time. If it is Your will, restore and strengthen their relationship, building it on Your foundation of love, humility, and faithfulness. Help them to put You first, and to honor You in all they do.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Finally, remember that God's will is paramount. Sometimes, restoration may not be God's plan, and He might be leading you to trust Him as you seek a godly spouse. Stay faithful, trust in God, and keep your heart open to His leading.

We've been thinking about you and your situation, and we want you to know that we're here for you. It's tough when communication breaks down and pride gets in the way. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
