my ### was dealing with some stomach pains for almost 2 weeks and finally decided to go to the ER this past Saturday. the ultrasound showed gallstones, but she had an appointment with a doctor today and he thinks it’s an ulcer. she’s waiting on an appointment with a GI to confirm or not. on top of this, she’s dealing with bulging discs on her neck that most likely needs surgery as well. please heal her and my anxiety of all this…i just need her feeling better more than anything in this world. amen!

We join with you in lifting up your loved one before the throne of grace and we hear the heaviness and anxiety in your heart as you watch her suffer. We pray together for her complete healing and for peace to guard your heart and mind during this waiting and uncertainty.

We are reminded that our God is the Great Physician who heals and restores. Scripture says, Bless Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:2-3. And again, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. We cling to these promises while also thanking God for the wisdom He gives to doctors and medical staff, and we pray that He will guide the GI specialist and all who care for her to have discernment to find the true cause of her stomach pain, whether gallstones or an ulcer, and to provide the right treatment. We also lift up the bulging discs in her neck and the difficult decision about possible surgery, asking the Lord to give clarity, to guide the surgeons if surgery is needed, and to bring relief from pain and restoration of strength.

We also lift you up, for the anxiety you are carrying. The Lord sees your love for her and your desire for her to feel better, and He invites you to cast your cares on Him. We are told, Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. And, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7. We pray that God will quiet your anxious thoughts and replace fear with His perfect peace, reminding you that He holds both you and your loved one in His hands. Fear not, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10.

We noticed your prayer closed with amen but did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently encourage you in this because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. And, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Him, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9.

So together we pray, Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this precious loved one to You and ask for Your healing hand upon her body. Touch her stomach and digestive system, bring clarity to her diagnosis, heal any ulcer or gallbladder disease, calm inflammation and pain. Touch her neck and spine, ease the pain of the bulging discs, and give wisdom about whether surgery is needed. Guide every doctor and specialist with Your wisdom. Lord, we also lift up the one who loves her so deeply and is burdened with anxiety. Pour out Your peace that passes all understanding upon him, calm his heart, strengthen his faith, and help him to rest in Your care and sovereignty. Let Your will be done and let Your comfort and hope fill this home. We ask all this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We have been lifting you and your loved one in prayer since reading your request. Watching someone you love be in pain for weeks, get conflicting information, and still wait for answers from the GI is exhausting, and it makes sense that your anxiety has grown while you also carry concern about her neck and the possibility of surgery.

We are praying for clear answers at that next appointment and for wisdom for her doctors as they sort out whether this is gallstones, an ulcer, or something else, and what the best next steps are for her neck. Please keep encouraging her to stay closely connected to her medical team and follow their guidance, and continue to bring any new or worsening symptoms to them promptly.

In this waiting time, one thing that often helps is going with her to the GI visit if you can, with a short written list of her symptoms, questions, and medications to hand to the doctor. It can ease some of that helpless feeling to have a plan for the appointment itself. And for the anxiety you mentioned, please do not carry it alone. Talk with a trusted pastor, counselor, or your own doctor as well as the Lord, so you have support while you support her.

Father, we bring this dear woman to You and ask for Your mercy and healing touch. Give her doctors clarity and skill, ease her pain, and guide every decision about her stomach and her neck. And we lift the one who loves her so much, calm his anxious heart, give him peace and rest as he waits, and remind him You are near and caring for you both. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace. To see one so dear to you suffer these many days with pain in the stomach, with uncertainty between gallstones and an ulcer while waiting for the GI physician, and with the added burden of bulging discs in the neck that may require surgery, is a heavy trial, and it is no wonder your own spirit is pressed with anxiety.

We are reminded that there is but one great Physician who lays His hands upon men and they are restored, and there is but one sacred Fountain opened on Calvary. The Scripture tells us the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ, the least word that ever fell from His lips, bears healing in it for the thousand ills of our humanity. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and His leaves are full of healing virtue. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, showing that pardon and healing are one in His hand. While we very speedily care for bodily diseases and rightly seek the physician and surgeon for healing, we look above all to Christ who alone can restore both soul and body according to His perfect will.

For your anxiety, hear the promise, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This peace is a present possession and may be enjoyed even when sorrows are surging round, even with loved ones far away or in pain, for in Jesus keeping we are safe, and they are safe. Have you not found that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. It is the mind which is the main thing, it will bring you daylight or midnight, peace or war. To tell your trouble to the Lord Himself, and not merely to tell yourself about it, is the way of peace. Bear your sorrow with Him, stay your mind upon Him, and you shall find that the blood of Jesus whispers peace within.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, our great Physician, look in mercy upon this dear one who suffers. You know her frame, You see the pain that has lingered these two weeks, the uncertainty of diagnosis, the waiting, the discs that trouble her neck. Grant wisdom to the doctors and to the GI physician who shall examine her, guide their hands and their counsel, and if it be Your will, grant healing and relief. Lay Your healing hand upon her and restore her according to Your mercy. And Lord, look upon this anxious heart that loves her more than anything in this world. Keep this soul in perfect peace as the mind is stayed on You. Forgive sin, speak pardon, and let that pardon bring its own healing, for with You is the fountain of life and health. Help this one to trust You with temporal supplies and with eternal things, to cast all care upon You, for You care for us. We ask this not because we are worthy, but through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name alone is salvation and healing. Amen.

Guide her doctors with wisdom and bring her complete restoration. Calm the anxiety of the one who loves her, for *"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you"* (**1 Peter 5:7**).
