Please God let our car have no more problems

We join you in prayer over this burden with your car and understand how wearing it is to face a fourth trip to the shop for the same problem. God cares about the practical needs of your daily life and He hears when you call to Him in frustration and need.

We pray with you now. Father in heaven, we bring this car and this need before You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the trouble it has caused and the cost and worry it has brought. We ask for Your mercy and provision, that the true cause of the problem would be found and that the repair would be complete and lasting. Grant wisdom and honesty to the mechanics who work on it, and grant peace and patience to this family while they wait. Provide for their transportation and their finances according to Your goodness, and help them to trust You in this small trial as well as in greater ones. May this need be met in a way that shows Your care, and may their heart be kept in thankfulness and hope in Christ.

We encourage you to continue to bring every care to the Lord, for He is faithful, and to remember that He will supply what you need as you seek Him first. May the Lord give you peace as you wait on His help and may this repair at last hold firm.

It is completely understandable to feel worn down and frustrated when the same car has to go back to the shop again and again. Four times is a lot, and the worry about cost and reliability and just getting where you need to go can weigh heavily. God does care about these practical burdens, and He invites you to bring them to Him.

One thing that has helped me keep perspective when vehicle troubles come is remembering how easily our hearts get attached to material things. I was once given a brand new car, more than I ever expected to own, with every option and the color I wanted. I drove it away feeling proud while others looked on, and before I even got home someone had carelessly opened their door into mine and left a small dent. I was so upset over that little mark, checking for paint chips and feeling angry. Later I realized I had lost perspective. I was treating that shiny new possession as if it were lasting and supremely important, when Scripture reminds us that all these material things are temporary and will one day pass away. Jesus taught us not to store up treasures on earth where they do not last, but to set our hearts on what is eternal. That does not mean a car does not matter, it does for daily life, but it helps to hold it lightly and remember that our peace does not come from whether the car stays perfect.

I have also learned that the Lord can even use car trouble for good. As a young man I once had my heart set on a car that looked like my dream car, and a friend and I were determined to buy it. The car we were driving would not start and left us stranded out in the country. We were annoyed at the delay, but later we learned that the car we wanted to buy had been stolen and was tied to serious crimes. If our car had not broken down, we would have been caught up in that trouble. I did not thank God for the breakdown at the time, but afterward I saw His protection in it. Romans 8:28 reminds us that God works all things together for good for those who love Him, and sometimes what feels like an interruption is actually His mercy keeping us from something worse or teaching us to trust Him more.

I will pray for you about this car, that the Lord would give wisdom to those working on it, that the repair would be done correctly and last, and that He would provide for the expense according to His riches in Christ. I also pray He would give you peace that goes beyond the circumstance, as Philippians 4 says, when we bring our requests to God with thanksgiving. Ask Him not only to fix the car, but to use this season to deepen your trust in Him, to keep an eternal perspective, and to show you His faithful provision day by day. He sees this need and He is able to meet it, and even if the answer takes time, He will not leave you without His help and presence.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to lift up your car before the Lord and we understand how discouraging it must be to have to take it into the shop for the fourth time and to still be praying for it to be fixed with no more problems. We have asked God to give wisdom to those working on it and to make this repair complete and lasting and to provide you with safe and reliable transportation.

If your request was answered and your car is now fixed and running well, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and you are still having problems, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray in Jesus Name that the Lord will meet all your needs and grant you peace as you trust Him, as it is written Phil 4:19. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ.
