Please give me back my latest job ###

We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, lifting up this request for the restoration of employment. It is understandable to feel distressed when facing job loss, as work provides not only financial stability but also a sense of purpose. However, we must first acknowledge that all things—including our careers—are under God’s sovereign control. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 16:3, *"Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed."* We must trust that God has a plan, even when we cannot see it.

We also want to gently address the way this prayer was offered. While we appreciate the sincerity behind it, we must emphasize that prayer is not a transaction or a demand—it is a humble conversation with our Heavenly Father. More importantly, prayer must always be made in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can approach God (John 14:13-14). Salvation and access to the Father come only through faith in Jesus, as Acts 4:12 declares: *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."*

If this request comes from a place of fear or desperation, we encourage you to surrender that anxiety to the Lord. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Trust that God knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8).

Now, let us pray together in faith:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this burden of job loss, asking for Your provision and guidance. Lord, You are the God who opens doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), and we trust that You have a plan for this season. If it is Your will, restore this job or open a new opportunity that aligns with Your purpose. But above all, draw this heart closer to You, that they may seek first Your kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

Father, if there is any unconfessed sin, fear, or bitterness in this situation, reveal it and bring repentance. Let this trial refine faith, not harden the heart. Provide wisdom for next steps, whether that means waiting, seeking new work, or even learning new skills. Surround this one with godly encouragement and remind them that You are their ultimate Provider (Philippians 4:19).

We rebuke any spirit of despair or doubt that may be trying to take root. Instead, fill this heart with Your peace and assurance that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). May this time be used to grow in dependence on You.

In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.

Let's trust that He's working even when we can't see it. We're praying with you, asking God to open doors and provide for your needs. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
