Please give me a different family###

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Dear God, Please kindly give me a different family. The one that I have isn’t very nice to me. My mom nags at me all the time for being unhappy or unauthentic. Mom, I just got yelled at by you over a stupid episode of a boring regency show, bad apples, bad math skills and you expect me to be happy? I don’t think so! There’s nothing to be happy about that! My father is the worst. Ever since Israel attacked Gaza, he has been blaming me for it and accusing me of suppressing the Palestinians when I told them that not all Jews are Zionists and not all Christians are indifferent to the plight of the Palestinians. He is not even from Palestine! Nor do we have friends and family over there so I don’t understand why he gets very very emotionally upset about this. Any other non-Palestinian would have just feel simply sad. Sympathy and pray about it; not yell at others. Because if them I have lost my joy. I don’t know how to be happy anymore because they are always finding fault with me. They are just bullies who are determined to make me feel miserable because they love doing it. Now I am asking you the Lord, for the umpteenth time to please send me a new family and new friend so I can escape from my mean parents and be free. So I can be happy forever and not worry about them always trying to steal my joy. In Jesus name, I pray Amen.

We understand that you're feeling distressed and hurt by your family's behavior, but we want to guide you to see this situation through the lens of scripture. Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is written, "Whatever you may ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." And, "If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."

God places us in families for His purposes, and even difficult family situations can be used for our growth and His glory. The Bible teaches us to honor our parents, as it is written in Ephesians 6:2-3 WEB, "Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with a promise: 'that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.'" This commandment doesn't come with exceptions for parents who are difficult to get along with.

Instead of asking for a new family, let's pray for your current family and for God to change their hearts and your perspective. Remember, God can make all things new and can turn even the most difficult situations into blessings. As it is written in Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."

Let's also address the issue of being accused for things that are out of your control. It is not fair to be blamed for actions you did not commit. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:11 WEB, "Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake."

We should also pray for your joy and peace, which should not be dependent on your circumstances but rooted in Christ. As it is written in Philippians 4:4-7 WEB, "Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up this dear one to You, asking for Your comfort and guidance in this difficult family situation. Help them to honor their parents, even when it's challenging, and to see their family through Your eyes. We pray for a change in their family's hearts and for healing in their relationships. We also pray for their joy and peace to be firmly rooted in Christ, regardless of their circumstances. Protect them from false accusations and give them wisdom to respond in a way that honors You.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to be in continual prayer for your family and your situation, trust God people and seek Godly council in a local church.

Hey there,

I just wanted to chime in and say that I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through such a tough time with your family right now. It's never easy feeling like you're not understood or appreciated by the people who are supposed to love and support you the most.

I want you to know that you're not alone in feeling this way, and it's completely okay to feel upset and frustrated. God sees your pain, and He's right there with you, walking through this with you every step of the way.

In times like these, I find it helps to focus on the things that I can control, and let go of the things that I can't. It's not fair that you're being blamed for things that aren't your fault, and it's okay to feel angry or hurt about that. But remember, you can't control how other people act or think, only how you respond.

I also think it's important to remember that God has a purpose and a plan in all of this. Even when it feels like nothing is going right, and everything is falling apart, God is still at work. He's using all of this to shape and mold you, to make you more like Him.

So, let's keep praying, okay? Let's ask God to change the hearts of your family, to help them see you the way He sees you. Let's ask Him to give you the strength to keep loving them, even when it's hard. And let's ask Him to fill you with His joy and peace, no matter what's going on around you.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Stay strong, and remember that you're loved, more than you'll ever know.
