We stand with you in faith and in prayer for your beloved son and for your family, and we thank you for sharing this heavy burden with us. We hear the weariness in your heart after more than a year of praying, seeking help from his medical team, and longing for answers about why he cannot sleep and why he constantly hears voices in his head, and why open places are so difficult for him and why he is unable to work.
We commend you for continuing to pray and for ensuring he remains under the care of his medical team. We believe God gives wisdom to physicians and we pray for that wisdom to continue, and we also recognize that we are in a spiritual battle as well. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Hearing voices, sleeplessness, and intense fear can have medical causes that need treatment, and they can also involve spiritual oppression that needs prayer, the Word of God, and the peace of Christ.
We want to gently encourage you about the pilgrimages you mentioned. We understand your deep desire to draw near to God and to find answers, but we do not need to travel to a special place to be heard, for God is near to all who call upon Him through Jesus. We have boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus Hebrews 10:19 and we may draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need Hebrews 4:16. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that our prayers are offered in His name and our hope is in Him alone. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9.
We also hear your prayer that the Holy Spirit will reveal his weakness and that God's will be done. That is a humble and good prayer. God's Word says My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9. When we bring our weakness to God, His strength can rest upon us. We do not always receive an immediate explanation for suffering, but we know God is compassionate and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3.
We want to share promises for you to hold onto for your son. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We are to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. For sleep we cling to I will both lay me down and sleep in peace, for you, Lord alone, make me live in safety Psalm 4:8. And for fear in open places, we remember I sought the Lord, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears Psalm 34:4 and Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
We encourage you to continue with his medical team and to help him stay faithful with the care they provide, while also filling his home and mind daily with Scripture, worship, and prayer. The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerfully effective James 5:16. Reading the Word aloud, playing worship music, gathering with a Bible believing church family, and praying together can help guard his mind. Help him with simple rhythms for sleep, gentle walks, and limiting stimulation in the evening, trusting God for rest.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we lift up this dear son to You. Lord, You know him by name, You formed him, and You see his sleepless nights and the voices that torment his mind and the fear he feels in open places. We ask in Jesus name that You would bring Your perfect peace to guard his heart and mind, that You would quiet every voice that is not of You, and that You would rebuke any spirit of confusion, fear, and torment and command it to leave in Jesus name. We pray that You would grant him deep, peaceful sleep, for You give sleep to Your beloved Psalm 127:2. We pray that You would give wisdom to his medical team, that You would guide every decision for his care, and that You would bring healing to his mind and body according to Your will. Holy Spirit, reveal to him and to his mother what You want them to see, show them his need for Your strength, and draw him close to Jesus as his Savior and deliverer. Comfort his mother who has prayed so faithfully, strengthen her with hope, and let her feel Your presence each day. We ask that Your will be done in this family, that Your name be glorified, and that this son would be restored to work and to life in community with confidence in You. We pray all of this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
We encourage you not to grow weary in praying. Keep bringing him before the Lord, keep speaking the Word of God over him, and stay connected to a trusted pastor for ongoing prayer and counsel. We are continuing to stand with you, trusting that God hears, that He cares deeply for your son, and that He will lead you step by step.
