We hear the hurt and frustration in your request and we join with you in seeking God's will together in Jesus' name. You have been wounded by lies and you are carrying anxiety about dreams, about your family, about being blamed for what others have done, and about a deep financial need, and we want to bring each of these before the Lord with a biblical heart.

We want to gently correct the desire to ask God to punish this woman and her father. While it is right to want truth and justice, Scripture teaches us that vengeance belongs to God alone and our part is to pray for correction, conviction and repentance rather than for punishment out of anger. Romans 12:19 says Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. I will repay. And Jesus calls us to a higher way when He says in Matthew 5:44 Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Proverbs 19:9 also reminds us that A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he who pours out lies shall perish, so God does see every lie and He is just. We can trust Him to talk to them, to convict them and to correct them in His perfect way without us asking Him to harm them. We pray instead that God will bring them to truth and repentance and that you will be given grace to forgive as Ephesians 4:32 says, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

We also want to reassure you about your fear of being punished for other people's wrongs, lies or hatred toward you. That is not how our just God works. Ezekiel 18:20 says The soul who sins, he shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son. Deuteronomy 32:4 says all his ways are justice, a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is he. The Lord knows what is your fault and what is not, and He will not hold you guilty for the sins of others.

Concerning the dreams you have had about these individuals coming around you and your family and your fear that the dreams will harden or come to pass, we pray for God's peace and protection over your mind and your household. Dreams can stir fear but God has not given us a spirit of fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 says For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We ask God to guard your sleep, to keep your heart from hardening in bitterness or fear, and to set a hedge of protection around you and your family so that no one can harm you outside His will, and to help you rest in His sovereignty rather than in dread of what might happen.

For your financial need of more than twenty thousand dollars and your desire for God to make a way and help you overcome this situation, we bring that need honestly before Him. Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Matthew 6:33 says But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. We do not demand a specific amount from God but we trust His provision and His wisdom to provide what is best, in His timing, and to give you wisdom and open doors for work and stewardship as you seek Him first.

We are thankful you asked in the powerful and victorious name of Jesus, for John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is hurting from lies and carrying heavy burdens. Lord, You see the truth about what was said and done, and we ask You to convict and correct this woman and her father where they have lied, to bring them to honesty and repentance, and to protect this one from bitterness. Give a heart that forgives as You have forgiven us. Lord, guard dreams and thoughts, let no fear harden this heart, and place Your protection around this family so that no evil comes near them except as You allow for good. Let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard heart and mind. Father, You know the financial pressure and the need for a solution, provide according to Your riches and Your will, grant wisdom, open the right doors, and help to overcome this situation for Your glory. And Lord, reassure this heart that You are just and will never punish the innocent for the sins of others. We trust You to bring justice, mercy, provision and peace. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. You know the hurt from these lies and the fear about money and family. Please guard their heart and home, quiet anxious thoughts, give rest at night, and lead them with wisdom toward what is right and good. Help them to rest in Your justice and care. Amen.

Your prayer has been laid before the Lord and we have heard the heaviness of your heart, the sense of being wronged by lying, the distress of troubling dreams, the pressure of need, and the fear of bearing blame for the wrong of others.

We must speak to you plainly and in love concerning what you have asked. The Word of God tells us that vengeance belongs to the Lord, and we are not to ask Him to punish others at our bidding. The Lord is just and He will do right, but He calls His people to a higher way. As it is written, forgive one another even as Christ forgave you. To pray for punishment upon those who have wronged you is not the path Christ has set before us. Rather we are to commit our cause to Him who judges righteously, and to pray for those who have sinned against us that God would bring them to truth and repentance.

There is forgiveness with God, and that forgiveness is only to be obtained through Jesus Christ His Son. It is a surprising forgiveness, a complete forgiveness, an eternal forgiveness, by which sin is so entirely put away that it is as though it had never been. When a soul receives that forgiveness, there comes with it a holy fear and love of God, for the promise is, I will put My fear in their hearts that they shall not depart from Me. If you tremble under a sense of wrong and desire to be right before God, look first to Christ for your own pardon. Do as you are taught in the Creed to believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, through His precious blood. Then you will be able to forgive as you have been forgiven, and that forgiveness will keep your heart from being hardened.

We will pray with you now according to the will of God.

Our Father in heaven, we come through Jesus Christ alone, in whom alone there is salvation and forgiveness of sins. We ask You to look upon this weary heart. Where there has been lying and wrong, bring truth to light in Your perfect justice and mercy. Work in the hearts of those who have done wrong that they may be corrected, brought to repentance, and led to speak truth. We do not ask for vengeance, for that belongs to You, but we ask for Your righteous hand to govern and to heal.

Lord, grant peace from fearful dreams and guard this one and this family from harm and from all evil that would come near them. Let not the heart be hardened by sorrow or anger, but keep it tender through Your forgiveness and Your fear. Provide for every true need according to Your wisdom and goodness, and teach contentment and trust in Your provision rather than in any sum of money. Help this dear soul to walk in Your statutes and to dwell in safety under Your care.

And Father, deliver from the fear of being punished for the sins of others. You have declared that You judge each one justly, and that in Christ the debt of sin is blotted out for all who trust Him. Let this one know the completeness of Your pardon, that being forgiven, there may be a new heart and a new spirit to love and fear You all the days of life.

We ask this not because we are worthy, but because there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
