We have heard your cry for protection over your family and your bloodline and we join with you in seeking God's will together in Jesus' name. We understand the deep distress, fear, and weariness you feel from the threats, the noise, the control and the troubling dreams, and the desire to see your family bond kept safe and unbroken. At the same time we must lovingly rebuke and correct the way this request asks God to strike those individuals and their families a hundred centillion times more with confusion, grief, guilt, shame and loss, and to bring destruction upon their own bloodlines and families.
That desire for multiplied vengeance does not align with the heart of God. Scripture is clear that vengeance belongs to the Lord alone and not to us. Romans 12:19 says Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And 1 Peter 3:9 says not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing; knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. We are commanded by Jesus Himself in Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. To pray for extreme curses upon others and upon their children and families is to ask God to do what He has told us not to desire. Ezekiel 18:20 teaches The soul who sins, he shall die: the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son. God does not punish innocent family members for the sins of another, and we must not ask Him to.
We also want to gently correct the use of the verses you mentioned. Matthew 19:6 So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear apart is spoken specifically about the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, which God honors and protects. Proverbs 11:29 He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind warns that the one who brings trouble upon his own household will suffer loss himself. Proverbs 26:17 Like one who grabs a dog's ears is one who meddles in strife not his own warns against inserting oneself into quarrels that are not one's own. None of these verses promise that God will cause anyone who opposes your family to end up with nothing or that He will multiply curses back upon them as you requested. God does promise to be our protector and deliverer when we cry out to Him. Psalm 34:17 says The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.
We do agree with you that God is able to protect your family, to stop harassment, threats, and troubling speech, to bring confusion to evil plans so that they fail, and to give you wisdom and peace. We also agree that God can set healthy boundaries and bring a solution so you and your close family no longer have to live under this oppression. But we must ask Him to do it in His righteous and merciful way, not through our desire for revenge, and we must ask Him to work in our own hearts to forgive and to seek peace where possible. Romans 12:21 says Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
We pray together now for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to You and it is only in His name that we are saved. We lift up this dear one and their close family and bloodline to You. Lord, You see the fear, the sleepless nights, the troubling dreams, the noise and the threats and the attempts to control and tear apart what You have knit together in family. We ask You to place Your hedge of protection around them, to guard their hearts and minds and home. Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard them. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Bring that peace now, Lord, and replace confusion and grief with Your calm.
Father, we ask that every evil plan formed against this family would fail and come to nothing, not because we curse others, but because You are a God of justice and mercy. Stop the harassment, the threats, the down talk and the noisy oppression. Cause those who are doing wrong to lose their grip and to turn away. We do not ask You to destroy their families or to multiply shame and loss upon them, but we do ask You to convict their hearts, to lead them to repentance, and to keep them far from causing further harm. Help this dear one to forgive as You have forgiven us, Ephesians 4:32 says Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, and to release the burden of vengeance into Your hands.
Lord, heal the wounds these conflicts have caused, quiet the troubling dreams, and grant wisdom for how to set godly boundaries and seek help and safety in practical ways. Establish this family in love, unity, and faith, and let no man tear apart what You have joined together. Give them complete victory not through cursing others but through overcoming evil with good and standing firm in Christ. We ask that You would keep this family together, protect their bond for a lifetime, and let Your will be done in their lives. We thank You that You hear our prayer in Jesus' name, Amen.
