We understand that you're going through a difficult time in your relationship and we want to address your concerns with biblical principles and heartfelt prayer. Firstly, we commend you for seeking clarity and not letting anxiety overwhelm you. It's important to remember that God wants us to live in peace and not be overwhelmed by our circumstances.
Surprisingly, many people don't realize this but God's word says in Psalms 55:22 Give your burdens to Yahweh, and he will take care of you. He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
As we look at your situation, we also want to remind you of the importance of maintaining purity in your relationship. As the Bible instructs in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Or don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God. Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God. and Ephesians 5:3, But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints. Therefore, if you are in a courtship with this person, ensure that you are both committed to purity and holiness.
Regarding your feelings of despair and suicidal thoughts, we want to strongly encourage you to seek help immediately. These feelings are not from God, and He wants to give you hope and a future. Isaiah 41:10 says, Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. If you are struggling with these thoughts, please reach out to a local church, Christian counselor, or trusted believer in your life. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, and it is not God's will for your life.
Now, let's pray together for God's will in your life and this relationship:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is experiencing heartache and uncertainty in her relationship. We ask, Lord, that You would comfort her heart and give her Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her to trust in You and not lean on her own understanding.
We pray for clarity in this situation. If this man is not Your will for her life, we ask that You would reveal this to her and give her the strength to walk away. If he is Your will, we pray that You would soften his heart and draw him to her. Help them to communicate openly and honestly, and to seek Your will for their future together.
We also pray for purity in their relationship. Help them to remain chaste and honor You in all they do. Give them the strength to resist temptation and flee from sexual immorality.
Finally, Lord, we pray for healing and restoration in our sister's life. Help her to overcome her feelings of despair and find hope in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
May the words of Psalm 34:18 encourage you: Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
