Players

Dhitlor

Beloved Servant
Please pray that anyone who behaves like a "player" in romantic relationships would be set free from their evil and come to faith in Christ. Thank you.

We join you in this prayer and we agree that those who live as players in romantic relationships need to be set free, for this pattern of life is evil in the sight of God and deeply harmful to others. To behave as a player is to practice deceit, selfishness and sexual immorality, using others for momentary pleasure while making false promises and hardening the heart toward true love and commitment. Scripture is clear that this is sin and not a game. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Hebrews 13:4 says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. And Galatians 5:19-21 warns that sexual immorality, impurity and such things prevent inheritance in the kingdom of God unless there is repentance.

We do not excuse this behavior but we also know the power of the gospel to transform even the most hardened heart. Such were some of you, but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of our God as 1 Corinthians 6:11 teaches. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman ordained by God, and any romantic relationship outside of that covenant should be courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, not casual dating or manipulation. Sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and when it involves unfaithfulness it is adultery, and God calls all to repent of it. 1 John 1:9 promises If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

We pray together now in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that anyone can be saved and have access to the Father, as Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.

Father, we come before You in Jesus name and we lift up every person who has lived as a player, deceiving and wounding others through fornication, lies and lust. We ask that You convict them by Your Holy Spirit, grant them godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and open their eyes to see the evil of their ways. Forgive them through the blood of Jesus shed on the cross and set them free from bondage to sexual sin and selfishness. Make them new creations in Christ, give them a heart that loves purity, honesty and faithfulness, and teach them to honor marriage as You designed it. Lead them to seek a godly spouse in a way that honors You, in courtship that is pure and Christ centered, looking toward a lifelong marriage rather than using others. We also pray for those who have been hurt by such behavior, that You would heal their hearts, restore their trust, and guard them from bitterness. We ask that You raise up marriages that glorify You and show the world Your faithful love. We thank You that You are merciful and mighty to save, and we trust You to do this work for Your glory. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray with perseverance and compassion, knowing that God desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance as 2 Peter 3:9 says. We also encourage anyone who has been caught in this lifestyle to turn fully to Christ, to flee from sexual immorality, to be accountable in the body of Christ, and to pursue holiness as you prepare for a godly marriage if it is God's will for you.

Thank you for bringing this burden to prayer. We join you in it.

It can be disheartening to watch how much hurt is left behind when people treat relationships as a game, and it would be easy to become cynical or hardened. The fact that you are asking for their freedom and for them to come to know Christ shows a gracious heart, and we are grateful to pray alongside you.

We believe God is able to do what we cannot do on our own. He not only forgives but brings real transformation, a change of mind and direction that leads to a new way of living. That is our hope as we pray for those who are caught in this pattern, and also for those who have been wounded by it.

A simple way to carry this forward is to keep praying specifically as the Lord brings people or situations to mind, asking for His mercy to reach them and for open doors for them to hear and receive the good news of Jesus in a way they can understand.

Father, we lift up to You everyone who is living this way. Have mercy on them, open their eyes to the harm being done, and draw them to Yourself. Set them free and make them new through faith in Jesus Christ. We also ask for Your comfort and healing for those who have been hurt, and for wisdom for all of us to walk in Your ways. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your burden for souls is heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord. To trifle with the hearts of others, to use persons made in the image of God for selfish and impure ends, is evil and must be repented of, for it treats lightly what God calls holy and it wounds those whom Christ commands us to love as ourselves.

We will pray that the Lord may grant to such persons not a superficial repentance which springs only from terror or shame and withers in a night, but that true repentance which goes to the heart and gives glory to God. True repentance and faith come together into the soul. The repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant and the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart, the repentance which pulls down and the faith which builds up, must not be separated. We pray that God would open their ears and seal instruction, that He may withdraw them from their purpose and hide pride from them, and bring them to see their lost condition.

Our prayer is that they may look away from themselves and look to Christ and live. For there is salvation in no other, and it is written, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. When a soul trusts in His one great sacrifice, sin punished upon the great Substitute and put away forever, that soul is delivered from going down to the pit. He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. We ask the Lord to work both in them, to pardon through the blood of Christ and to sanctify by His Spirit, so that the natural and inevitable fruit of faith in Christ, which is holiness, may be seen in them.

We ask that faith may work by love and purge from all that is petty, mean, selfish and impure, and that those who have walked in these ways may be made new creatures who honor marriage as God ordained it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and who keep themselves from all that defiles that holy union. May they be brought to walk by faith from the wicket gate to the celestial city, with repentance as their companion all the journey through, declaring the works of the Lord who has saved them.

We join you in this prayer and give thanks that you have brought this need before God. It is right to pray that those who have lived as players in romantic relationships, using others for selfish desire and acting deceitfully, would be set free from that evil and come to true faith in Jesus Christ.

Scripture shows us that there is repentance and it has great power. Even one who has been baptized and then fallen deeply into sin can be set free from the burden of his sins if he is willing, and Christ can be formed in him again. As it is written, does not he who falls rise again, and he who turns away turn back to God. God does not desire that anyone remain in wickedness, but that through repentance, tears, prayer and a contrite heart they would turn to Him.

So we pray that God would bring each person caught in this pattern to a true sense of their own sin, not a worldly sorrow that leads to death, but a godly sorrow that works repentance unto salvation. We pray that they would see that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, who came to deliver us from evil and to bring us into sonship, so that we might receive adoption as sons and put on Christ. We pray that they would turn from impurity and deceit, bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and walk in purity and continence before Him.

We ask that the Lord would humble them, open their eyes to the harm they have done, wash away what has stained them, and make their conduct pure. We pray that Christ would be formed in them, that they would trust not in themselves but in God, and that they would find forgiveness and new life through the one sacrifice of Christ, which perfects forever those who are sanctified. May they come to know the grace that works within a willing heart and find comfort and salvation in Him.

Thank you for bringing this burden to prayer. It is right to ask God to set people free from a pattern of using others in romantic relationships. That way of living is sinful and destructive. It treats people made in God's image as objects for selfish pleasure, it dishonors God's design that sexual intimacy belongs within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and it leaves wounds in everyone involved.

The good news is that God has provided a way of salvation that is able to reach even those who have lived this way. Jesus, through His obedience to the Father all the way to the cross, became the source of eternal salvation for all who trust in Him. Salvation is not a reward we earn by cleaning ourselves up. It is a gift of God's grace, given through faith in Jesus Christ. The grace that brings salvation has appeared to all people, and Scripture says that salvation is not far off or unattainable. It is near, as near as your own mouth and heart. If a person confesses that he is a sinner and believes in his heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, he can be saved. At the cross mercy and truth met together and righteousness and peace kissed, because God made a way to be both just and merciful through His Son. That is why we must not neglect so great a salvation.

When we pray for those trapped in this lifestyle, we should pray for more than just the removal of bad behavior. Darkness does not leave simply because we ask it to leave. Light must come in. When Jesus Christ Himself enters a life, the darkness must go, because light and darkness cannot remain together. If a heart is only emptied and not filled with Christ, it is left vulnerable to return to even worse things. So our prayer is for the entrance of the Deliverer Himself, that He would dwell within them and make them new.

God is gracious and merciful, patient and long suffering, and He does not desire that any should remain in sin. Today is the day of salvation, the accepted time to respond to Him. True faith will show itself in repentance, which is a real change of mind and direction, turning from sin to follow Christ. That repentance will bear fruit, a new way of living that demonstrates the heart has been changed, including honoring others and reserving intimacy for marriage as God intended.

So we join you in praying that God would open the eyes of those who have lived as players, that they would see the seriousness of their sin, that they would turn from it and trust in Jesus Christ alone for forgiveness and new life, and that the Lord who thinks upon us and is our help and deliverer would fill them with His presence and make them whole. We also pray that you will continue to love what God loves and to magnify the Lord for His saving power, declaring His righteousness and salvation day by day.
