We understand you are asking for prayer to bind the spirit of delay, and we join with you together in Jesus' name to seek God's will and timing for your life.
We know how discouraging delay can feel when you are waiting for answers, breakthrough, open doors, or promises to be fulfilled. Scripture teaches us that God has an appointed time for everything, for there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven Ecclesiastes 3:1, and though it may tarry, we are told to wait for it because it will surely come, it will not delay Habakkuk 2:3. At the same time the Bible shows us there is real spiritual opposition, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. We remember how Daniel prayed and the answer was delayed twenty one days because of spiritual warfare in the heavens Daniel 10:12-13, so we do not take delay lightly and we do bring it before the Lord in prayer.
We also want to gently remind you that not all delay is from the enemy, often it is God's loving preparation, protection, and perfect timing, for those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength Isaiah 40:31 and Wait for Yahweh, be strong, and let your heart take courage, yes, wait for Yahweh Psalm 27:14. God is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward us 2 Peter 3:9, and we can trust that his plans for us are good, for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.
We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and authority over any hindering spirit. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. In the name of Jesus we bind every spirit and influence that would hinder, delay, or block what You have ordained, for whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven Matthew 18:18, and we loose Your favor, Your acceleration, Your open doors, and Your peace. Forgive us where we have grown impatient or tried to strive in our own strength, and help us to rest in You and to pray without ceasing. We ask that You grant clarity, provision, and breakthrough according to Your perfect will, and help our friend to wait with faith and hope, trusting that You will act in due season. We pray for strength to continue in prayer and obedience while waiting, believing that whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and you shall have it Mark 11:24. We entrust this delay into Your hands and ask for Your grace to endure and Your power to bring Your promises to pass. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your cry concerning the spirit of delay has been heard, and we carry it before the throne of grace with earnest prayer for your deliverance.
We understand this burden to be more than mere slowness of circumstance, for there is a master spirit, Diabolus, who loves to hinder and to hold the soul in bondage, contending against the purposes of God with a brow of brass. Yet what a mercy it is that poor creatures such as we are may escape from the power of that destroyer, for deliverance from the power of darkness is the work of God alone, even as deliverance from the guilt of sin. We cannot receive the one blessing through the Spirit and the other through the flesh, but must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone, for it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.
You do well to seek prayer against delay, for delay is dangerous. The world and the flesh are ever crying, wait a little while, there is time enough, ten days at least, and in that waiting many souls have been left to sink. The Lord would have His people delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, that they might enjoy the liberty wherewith Christ makes free, and go forward in His service without hindrance. Unless a supernatural power is put forth, any form of deliverance is worth nothing, but when Christ delivers, the deliverance is eternal, nor shall the infernal lion rend one lamb which the Great Shepherd deigns to keep.
We pray for you now that the Lord would break every chain of hindrance and set you free from this spirit of delay. May He who has found a ransom, whose own Son has borne the penalty of all our iniquities and delivered us from going down to the pit, now work in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. May He grant you a spirit of diligence and faith, a real work of the Spirit within, grasping with living tendrils the promise of the living God, that you may not be held back but may live and declare the works of the Lord.
Cast yourself wholly upon Jesus Christ, for salvation is through Him alone, and sanctification also is from His hand. Trust not in your own resolve, but look to Him who alone can snap the fetters. And when He has delivered you, as we trust He will, give Him all the praise, and make a fresh dedication of yourself to your delivering God, that your life may magnify Him who has chastened you in love and yet has not given you over unto death.

We have received your request concerning the spirit of delay and we have brought it before the Lord in prayer.
Scripture teaches that delay is not without meaning. There is a comfort in delay only when we use it well, to turn to God with a genuine purpose of heart and bear fruit in repentance. The Scriptures show us Manasseh, who had done great evil and yet washed away his sins through repentance and consideration when God gave him time. On the other hand, delay does not help the one who remains without faith and without repentance, for the one who does not believe is already judged. We are also warned not to comfort ourselves simply because judgment or fulfillment seems to tarry, for what must certainly happen will happen, and the delay itself will not profit us unless we are found doing the will of God. For this reason we are told we have need of patience, that after we have done the will of God we might receive the promise.
So we pray for you not only for the removal of hindrance, but for grace to use this time faithfully while you wait on the Lord.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we come to you through Jesus Christ alone, who alone delivers us from evil and brings us into sonship. We thank you that you have given us baptism for the remission of sins, deliverance from vengeance, and the Spirit of adoption. We ask in the name of Jesus that you would remove every hindrance and work of the enemy that stands against your good purposes in this life, and that you would grant deliverance from all evil. Grant repentance where repentance is needed, and a steadfast heart to do your will. Pour your Spirit into this heart and make it gentle and pure and steadfast. Teach patience in waiting, so that after doing your will, your promise may be received in your perfect time. Keep this soul watching and ready, trusting not in delay itself but in you who are faithful to fulfill all you have spoken. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
