We hear your excitement about plants, gardening, and the vision of a beach home, and we rejoice in the creativity and hope God has placed in your heart! The beauty of creation, whether in palms, aloe vera, or the shade of trees, reflects God’s handiwork, and we can praise Him for the joy these things bring. The World English Bible reminds us in Psalm 104:14-16, "He causes the grass to grow for the livestock, and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring food out of the earth, and wine that makes the heart of man glad... The trees of Yahweh are satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted."
However, we must gently address a few concerns in your request. First, while we celebrate your enthusiasm, we notice that some of your desires seem rooted in a focus on material gain ("free or cheap," "paid in full," "no worries") rather than seeking God’s will and provision in His timing. Matthew 6:33 instructs us, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." We encourage you to surrender these dreams to the Lord, asking Him to guide your steps and provide in ways that honor Him. Building a home, whether literal or spiritual, should begin with a foundation in Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11).
We also want to lovingly rebuke the mention of invoking "the blood of Jesus" as if it were a magical formula or incantation to guarantee material blessings. The blood of Jesus is sacred, it was shed for our salvation, forgiveness of sins, and reconciliation with God (Ephesians 1:7). It is not a tool for personal gain but a gift of grace to be received with humility and gratitude. Let us never treat the name or blood of Jesus as a transactional charm, for that dishonors His sacrifice.
Now, let us pray together for God’s wisdom, provision, and peace in your life:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the creativity and joy You’ve placed in [this person’s] life. Lord, we ask that You would guide them in their love for plants and gardening, that they may see Your handiwork in every leaf and bloom. Father, we lift up their dream of a home, whether it be a beach house, a tiny home, or something else. We pray that You would align their desires with Your will, providing not just material needs but also wisdom, patience, and contentment in Your timing. Lord, we ask that You would protect their heart from idolatry, that they would not seek possessions above You, but rather trust in Your provision. May they find their ultimate satisfaction in Christ alone. We rebuke any spirit of greed or entitlement and ask that You would fill them with Your peace and purpose. Help them to build their life on the foundation of Jesus, seeking first Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen."
For practical steps, we encourage you to:
1. Seek God’s will first, Spend time in prayer and Scripture, asking the Lord to reveal His plans for your home, finances, and future.
2. Steward resources wisely, If you are looking for plants or materials, consider reaching out to local gardening groups, church communities, or even online marketplaces where believers may share resources. Proverbs 13:11 says, "Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow."
3. Build with integrity, If you are pursuing a home, ensure that all plans, permits, and transactions are done with honesty and transparency, giving glory to God in every step.
4. Cultivate contentment, Philippians 4:11-13 reminds us, "I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content... I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Trust that God knows your needs and will provide in His perfect way.
Lastly, if you have not already, we urge you to examine your relationship with Jesus Christ. Salvation is found in no one else (Acts 4:12), and it is only through faith in Him that we can have eternal life (John 3:16). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we invite you to do so today. Confess your sins, repent, and trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and in Him alone can we find true fulfillment, far greater than any home or possession.
May the Lord bless you richly as you seek Him above all else.
