Beloved Servant
I have something to do this week that I was so excited about but I'm now concerned it's going to be difficult to manage to do it and I'm also upset about other things in my life and just generally want to isolate myself from everything and everyone because of how upset I am. Please pray for me about all this. Pray that maybe the event will get rescheduled. I just wish I didn't have to do anything this week but isolate myself and be alone. Thank you.

We have read your request and we are lifting you up together before the Lord in this heavy and overwhelming week.

We understand that feeling of wanting to pull away from everything and everyone when disappointment and upset build up. The desire to isolate can feel like protection, but the enemy often uses isolation to make our burdens feel heavier. God created us for fellowship and to bear one another's burdens, and He Himself draws near when we feel overwhelmed.

The scriptures remind us, Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 We also take comfort in, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 And, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18

We also hear you asking for prayer that the event you were once excited about would be rescheduled because it now feels too difficult to manage. We will pray for God's will to be done concerning that event, whether that means rescheduling or giving you the strength and peace to walk through it. Sometimes God does not remove the difficult week, but He promises to sustain us in it, for He says, Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 And He says, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

We want to gently encourage you not to give in to isolating yourself from everything and everyone. While rest is important, withdrawing completely can keep us from the encouragement and help God wants to provide through other believers. The Word tells us, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another. Hebrews 10:25 And, Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 If you have a trusted pastor, mature Christian friend, or family member in Christ, we encourage you to reach out to them this week and share honestly how you are feeling so you are not carrying this alone.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 And, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

We pray together for you now.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. You see the excitement that has turned to concern, the disappointment about other things in life, and the heaviness that makes isolation feel appealing. Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your peace that surpasses understanding upon their heart and mind. Cast out anxiety and replace it with Your calm. If it is Your will, we ask that You would open a door for this event to be rescheduled and make the path clear. If it is not to be rescheduled, we ask that You would give supernatural strength, energy, and grace to manage it well, for Your strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9 Draw them close to You, remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted, and prevent the enemy from using isolation to deepen despair. Lead them to reach out to fellowship and to find rest in You. Help them to cast all their cares on You because You care for them. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word this week, even in small moments, and to let others walk with you. God is with you in this week and He will not forsake you.

We can hear how disappointing this feels, to have something you were so excited about now feel heavy and hard to face, especially with other upsets weighing on you. It makes sense that pulling away and being alone sounds like the safest option right now.

When everything piles up, isolating can feel protective in the moment but often leaves us carrying it all by ourselves. We wonder if it might help to let one trusted person in just a little this week, someone who can know honestly that you are feeling overwhelmed. And for the event itself, it could help to take a small, practical step instead of holding all the what-ifs alone, maybe reaching out to whoever is organizing it to share your concerns and ask what flexibility there is, or what support would make it more manageable if it stays as scheduled. Giving yourself permission to take the week one small piece at a time can keep it from feeling like one big weight.

We are holding you in prayer this week.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You see the excitement that has turned to worry and the other hurts that feel heavy right now. Give calm and clarity for each step this week, wisdom about the event, and the comfort of not facing this alone. Bring steady people nearby and remind them of Your nearness and care. Amen.

Your burden has been laid before us and we have taken it to the Lord in prayer. I understand the heaviness you describe, when a thing once anticipated with joy now feels difficult to manage, and when other sorrows press so that the heart wishes to withdraw and be alone.

Our Saviour says, do not be anxious about your temporal affairs, and do not be so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry, fretfulness, care and distress. I have found by my own experience and by the observation of others that anxiety has never comforted any soul, nor ever brought any grist to the mill or any meal to the barrel. If a thing does not pay, what is the good of it. Indeed the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. It weakens the hands that must do the work and clouds the mind that needs to see clearly.

You speak of wishing to isolate yourself and that the event might be put off. While withdrawal may feel like relief for a moment, the Lord has not made us to bear our burdens alone and in secret. He invites you to cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you, and having laid the whole weight of your concerns upon Him whom God has revealed to be your Saviour, you may leave them there in perfect safety, without a moment's care or anxiety, for His everlasting arms must carry out His eternal purposes. In Him you may find a clarity and strength that isolation cannot give, for the air is often full of mist and fog, and the best of men must pause and seek the Lord to know the right course.

So we do not pray simply that you may be left alone, for that would not be for your good, but we pray that the Lord will give you that peace which passes all understanding, wisdom to order this week with prudence, and strength for what He has appointed for you to do. If it be His will to reschedule this event we trust His providence, and if it remains as it is we ask that He will fit you for it, calm the trembling anxiety that now surrounds you, and surround you with the fellowship and counsel of His people rather than solitude. May He lift the mist and show you the right course step by step, and keep your heart stayed upon Him.

We are praying that you will know yourself upheld by those everlasting arms, that you will not face these days in lonely distress but in quiet dependence upon Christ, and that even in this trial you will prove that His grace is sufficient for you and that He will carve His faithfulness deeper upon your history as one of His redeemed.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have received your request and we are praying for you in this heavy moment. You shared that something you were once excited for now feels difficult to manage, and that other upsets in your life have left you wanting to pull away from everyone and be alone. Thank you for being honest about this struggle.

Scripture teaches that anxiety and the cares of this life can choke the heart like thorns choking good seed, and that when anxiety is allowed to grow it can overwhelm us like a wave swelling over a small boat. The desire to isolate yourself is understandable when you feel overwhelmed, but isolation will not give you the rest you are seeking. God made us to cast our cares on Him and to walk with His people, not to bear burdens alone.

We are praying that God will calm your heart and give you confidence to come to Him just as you are. He knows your thoughts and your weariness, and He does not turn away when you are anxious or ashamed. When we are willing to come to Him, He gives many opportunities for help and salvation. Pray with us in this way.

Father, we bring this dear one before You in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have mercy and salvation. You see the heaviness of this week, the disappointment, and the wish to withdraw. We ask that You would lift this anxiety and give perfect peace that guards heart and mind in Christ. Give strength for each duty this week and wisdom about the planned event. If it is Your will, provide relief in the schedule, but above all give courage and clarity to do what is right and needful, and do not let discouragement win. Root out the thorns of worry, give rest to the heart, and help Your word to take deep root. Surround this person with faithful fellowship and remind them that they are not alone, for You are near to all who call upon You. Help them to reach out to a trusted pastor or believing friend this week rather than withdrawing, and to find refreshment in prayer, in Your word, and in simple rest.

We encourage you in the days ahead to bring every worry to God in prayer, to speak openly with one faithful person in your church or family rather than carrying this alone, and to take small steps of faithfulness one day at a time. God is able to sustain you through what feels too much, and His grace is sufficient for each day.

We will continue to pray for your peace, for strength for this week, and for God to guide every decision according to His good will.

Thank you for sharing so honestly about how heavy you feel right now. Feeling excited about something and then feeling overwhelmed by it, while also carrying other hurts, can leave you feeling trapped and pressured from many directions. That sense of being trapped often brings anxiety and a heaviness of heart, and the desire to pull away from everyone and isolate can feel like the only relief.

Scripture gives us a picture for this. David spoke to his own soul when he felt low and restless inside, asking why his heart was so cast down and disquieted, and then he answered himself with the remedy to hope in God. The reason our hearts sink like that is often that we have, without meaning to, left God out of the equation. We look at the pressures, the relationships, the responsibilities, the other disappointments, and they seem impossible on their own.

The answer is to bring God back into the center of the situation and put your hope in Him. When He is factored back in, what felt impossible takes on a different shape. You begin to see a way through because you remember who is with you and for you.

That is why turning to prayer is so important, even when you feel like withdrawing. Many of David's prayers begin in distress and end in rejoicing, not because the circumstances instantly changed, but because in prayer he found assurance of God's help and victory. He was reminded that God deals generously with His people and surrounds them with His care. Prayer lifts the eyes from the weight of the moment to the faithfulness of the Lord.

Discouragement is one of the main tools the enemy uses to keep us from moving forward. It can come through weariness, through harsh words from others, or through our own tired thoughts that tell us to quit. Even Jeremiah felt such discouragement that he wanted to stop speaking for the Lord, until God's word burned like a fire within him and he could not stay silent. Others have faced ridicule and opposition and the temptation to give up, and the encouragement given was simple, do not be afraid, remember the Lord. He is with you and He will give you strength. Fear and discouragement take hold when we forget the Lord, but remembering Him restores courage.

What you need most right now is not to get more focused on yourself and your condition, but to get your eyes off yourself and onto the Lord. The Bible calls us to rejoice in the Lord, not necessarily in our circumstances. You may weep over your circumstances, and God understands that sorrow, yet you can still rejoice in who He is, in His presence, His power, and His promises.

Isolating yourself may feel protective, but it often deepens the heaviness. Bringing your heart to God and letting trusted believers walk with you is part of how He lifts you up.

I am praying for you that God will quiet your anxiety and lift this heaviness, that He will give you clarity and strength for what is ahead, and that you will experience His peace as you put your hope in Him. I pray not simply that circumstances will be rearranged to let you avoid what feels hard, but that God will show you His will and give you the grace to walk through it with Him, knowing He is with you and will deal kindly and helpfully with you. May He draw you close in prayer, renew your hope, and surround you with His comfort and with people who reflect His care.
