my dog and i are plagued wth body lice, and do not know where they came from. we are clean and live in a nice senior building. we have a lot of employees here, so maybe....do not know. this is so annoying, painful, frustrating, embarrassing. Please pray with us that my dog and i will be relieved of these pests immediately and permanently. I am 70, and the dog is the uplifter of most of the seniors. Thank you for praying with us. It is stated that where 2 or more are gathered, but i live alone, so please be my gathering. Love, and God Bless You. Senior Lady and Doggie.

Body Lice -- Most of the info, including from doctors and etc is old. It is completely out of touch with reality to believe that this menace is only from dirt or homeless situations.

You can get this from cloth touching infested cloth, and you can't readily see them, so airports, anywhere with carpet, etc can have body lice. You can get them on your shoes anywhere.

They multiply more frequently than head lice so adjust all info that you read about head lice for that factor.

Bathe twice or three times daily in epsom salts and leave the salt water on your body and hair, including scrubbing your feet with it. This will allay the problem but probably not rid you of it. Still, you need to mop your floors twice daily and scald the mop with the hottest water possible, flush the mop water down the toilet.

Do not pick at any bump or scab, because you can trigger relapse fever.

Walgreens and WalMart carry Licefreee, a homeopathic salt based remedy to help kill lice that you can put on your body outside the mucous membranes. Neems oil (cheaper on ebay) is useful for saturating pubic and head hair.

Double wash your laundry, changing sheets and towels daily, in the hottest water and dry on the hottest cycle. Bag your clothes to separate them from the others that haven't gone through this process.

Do your own research and attempt to monitor and understand this problem.

Animals do not get body lice.

Your car and work area have to be cleaned properly as well. You may be able to pour hydrogen peroxide on the floors and mop it up. If you use epsom salts on your floors, and it goes into the cracks, you may have helped prevent them from living there in the long-term too.

Look for dots. These are body lice too, along with the other shapes that you can find online.

Vaseline doesn't kill them, but it slows them so that you can pick them off. Put them in a cup of water, rubbing alcohol or the like to have a convenient way to dispose of them that is easier than carrying them individually to the toilet.

Take extra Vitamin C and other remedies to build your immune system.

This is a very difficult situation that may take months to end. Focus on what you can do right today, and understand that this is a condition that is happening to more people. Remember that everyone has problems, and that many people have worse problems than the horror and depressing body lice. You will get through this, you will need to be highly organized. Peace and love. HW
