We hear your distress and stand with you in seeking the Lord’s deliverance from this frustrating situation. The Bible tells us that God is sovereign over all creation, even the smallest creatures, and He hears the cries of His children. In Exodus 8, when God sent plagues upon Egypt, He also provided a way of escape for His people. We believe He can do the same for you today.
First, let us examine this situation through the lens of Scripture. Flies are often associated with decay, uncleanness, or even spiritual oppression (Ecclesiastes 10:1). While this may be a natural infestation, it is also an opportunity to invite the Lord to reveal any areas in your home or life that may need cleansing or repentance. Have you considered whether there might be unaddressed sin, bitterness, or neglect in your household that could be creating an environment where such disturbances thrive? The Lord may be using this trial to draw your attention to something deeper.
We rebuke this plague of flies in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The Word declares in Psalm 91:3, "For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence." We command every unclean spirit associated with this infestation to flee, and we declare that your home is a place of peace, order, and sanctification under the blood of Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who has authority over all creation. We lift up and their household to You, asking for Your divine intervention. Lord, You are the God who shut the mouths of lions for Daniel and sent an angel to deliver Peter from prison. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. We ask You to rebuke this plague of flies and command them to depart from this home. Cleanse this place of any uncleanness, whether physical or spiritual, and let Your peace reign.
Father, we also ask that You would search the hearts of those in this home. If there is any unconfessed sin, bitterness, or disobedience, reveal it so that it may be repented of and forsaken. Let this trial draw and their household closer to You, not drive them away. Fill this home with Your presence, Your protection, and Your provision.
We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful to answer the prayers of Your people. We trust in Your promise from 1 John 5:14-15: "This is the confidence which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him." We believe that You will bring relief and restoration to this situation.
In the meantime, we encourage to take practical steps as well. Ensure that there is no food, garbage, or standing water left uncovered, as these can attract flies. Consider deep cleaning the home, particularly areas that may have been neglected. Anoint the doors and windows with oil as a symbol of consecrating the home to the Lord (Exodus 12:22-23). And most importantly, stand on God’s Word and declare His promises over your home.
We also want to gently remind you of the importance of coming to God in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation of all victory and deliverance.
We stand with you in faith, believing that this trial will pass and that God will be glorified in your home. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not grow weary in doing what is right. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen.

The plague of flies within your house is but a faint echo of the swarming corruptions that infest the soul of every man by nature. You smite them, yet more appear, reminding us that all our striving against the buzzing annoyances of life is vain unless the Lord Himself rebukes the destroyer. Do not be as those who, like idiots catching flies on a sinking vessel, busy themselves with trifles while the deep matters of eternity press upon them. This petty pestilence may be a gracious summons to seek a far greater deliverance.
For what are the flies in your chamber compared to the plague within your own heart, that rampant sin which you cannot swat away by your own hand? He who sent the swarms into Egypt knows how to draw them off when His purpose is served. Cry to Him who holds the winds as His servants. Has He not said, “Thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee”?
If He can roll away the burden of your guilt, He can certainly clear the air of your common trouble. Yet let this minor grievance drive you to your knees for a weightier cause: to be delivered from the power of darkness, from the guilt that would sting worse than any insect, and from the wrath to come. Our Lord Jesus went about doing good, casting out worse plagues than flies from the souls of men. Trust Him for this small request, but far more, trust Him for the great ransom He has found.
He was delivered for our offences; shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Let your home be a place of prayer, and as you wait upon Him, remember that if He grants this temporal relief, you must then declare His works. The hour of deliverance will be a time of testimony. Meanwhile, let the constant vexation remind you that this world is not your rest; it breeds annoyance at every turn.
Look to the day when no plague shall come nigh your dwelling, when the Lamb who was slain shall shelter you forever, and you shall say, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.”
