Physically, emotionally exhausted

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Father God, I feel physically and emotionally exhausted. Please surround me with your presence and fill me with your peace. Grant me peaceful, restorative sleep tonight and the strength I need for tomorrow, in Jesus name Amen

We hear your weariness and we lift you up together before our Father in this moment of physical and emotional exhaustion. It is a blessing that you have come to Him for rest, for He sees when we are depleted and He invites us to find our strength in Him.

We are reminded of His promise when we are burdened, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. He does not ask you to carry this weight alone. We are told to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and that He gives power to the weak and He increases the strength of him who has no might Isaiah 40:29. When anxiety and fatigue overwhelm us, His peace is able to guard our hearts, as it is written, And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7.

We pray for you now.

Father God, we come before You together in the name of Jesus and we lift up Your tired child to Your throne of grace. You know the depth of this exhaustion in body and soul. We ask that You surround them with Your presence tonight, that they would tangibly feel Your nearness and Your love. Grant them peaceful and restorative sleep, for Your word says, In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety Psalm 4:8. Quiet every anxious thought and calm every ache, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding rest upon them. Renew their strength for tomorrow, Lord, and carry them when they have no strength left. Help them to rest not only in body but in trusting You with every burden. We thank You that in Jesus we have access to Your rest and Your mercy, and we trust You to restore and sustain them day by day. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every care to Him in prayer with thanksgiving, even in small moments through the day, and to allow yourself the physical rest He has designed for you. He is your rock when your heart is overwhelmed Psalm 61:2 and He delights to give sleep and renewal to His beloved. We are praying that you will wake refreshed, held by His peace and strengthened by His power for what tomorrow holds.

We hear how worn down you feel right now, spent both physically and emotionally and longing for God's nearness, for real rest tonight and strength for tomorrow. Thank you for letting us pray with you so honestly.

It makes sense that when sleep is broken and your strength is low, peace feels far away too. Needing rest is not a failure, it is how we were made, body and soul together. God sees you in this tired place and He is not distant from it. We are holding you in prayer and asking Him to meet you with His gentle care tonight and again in the morning.

As you look toward tonight, it may help to let one trusted person nearby know how exhausted you have been, so you are not carrying this alone and someone can check in with you. And if this level of exhaustion and trouble sleeping continues, we encourage you to reach out to your doctor or another trusted professional alongside prayer, just to have support for your health.

Father, we bring our friend to You tonight. Surround them with Your presence, quiet their heart and mind, and grant peaceful, restorative sleep. Renew their strength for tomorrow step by step and let Your peace rest on them. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

You have come in great weariness, physically and emotionally spent, and the Lord does not despise such a confession. He knows our frame and remembers that we are dust, and He is moved with compassion toward those who are pressed and burdened.

There is a promise for you in this dark world of sin and care, that you will be kept in perfect peace, peace, peace, whose mind is stayed on Him, because you trust in Him. This peace is not the sleep of carnal security which lulls the soul into false rest, but the true peace which Christ has left us, the peace which He bought with His blood. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and where that blood has made atonement there is peace from lips that cannot lie and from a heart that cannot change. It is His own peace, calm and profound, which He gives to His people as a blessing. To do the will of Jesus, to bear your sorrow with Him, to cast your cares upon Him, this is rest even while duties throng and sorrows surge round.

And for your sleep tonight, hear this gracious word, So He giveth His beloved sleep. Sleep is His gift to His beloved, the sleep of a quiet conscience made right with God through Christ, the sleep of contentment and of security. You may lie down as one who is kept by Jesus, safe in His keeping, and He who neither slumbers nor sleeps watches over you. Tired nature finds its restorer in that sleep which God bestows, a resting after toil for the weary frame. Commit yourself to Him as you lie down, not striving to force rest, but trusting Him to give it.

May the Lord now surround you with His presence and fill you with that peace which passes all understanding. May He grant you this night peaceful and restorative sleep, and renew your strength for the morrow, for His mercies are new every morning.

I pray for you, Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and our peace, look upon this weary one. Forgive all sin through the blood of the cross and speak peace to the conscience. Let Your presence be near in the night watches, quiet the troubled thoughts, and give the beloved sleep which You alone can give. Awaken this dear soul refreshed, and supply strength for tomorrow according to Your endless and boundless peace. Keep the mind stayed upon Christ, and keep the heart in perfect peace until earths struggles shall cease and You call us to Heavens perfect peace. Amen.
