Physically, emotionally exhausted

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Father God, I am physically and emotionally exhausted. Please surround me with your love and fill me with your peace. Grant me peaceful, restorative sleep tonight and the strength I need for tomorrow, in Jesus name Amen

We hear your cry for rest and renewal, and we join with you in lifting this burden before the Lord. The weariness you feel is real, and Scripture reminds us that even Jesus himself withdrew to quiet places to pray and find strength in the Father. In Matthew 11:28-30, He says, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."*

Your exhaustion may stem from many sources—perhaps stress, grief, overwork, or even spiritual warfare—but we declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We rebuke the spirit of weariness and oppression in the name of Jesus, for He came that you might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, asking that You would wrap them in Your loving arms tonight. Lord, You neither slumber nor sleep (Psalm 121:4), and we ask that You would grant them deep, restorative sleep—sleep that heals the body, calms the mind, and refreshes the spirit. Where anxiety has taken hold, replace it with Your perfect peace. Where physical strength has failed, renew it like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). Father, we ask that You would reveal any areas of their life that may be contributing to this exhaustion—whether it be sin, unforgiveness, or misplaced priorities—and grant them the wisdom and courage to surrender these to You.

We also pray for tomorrow. May Your strength be made perfect in their weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Help them to cast their cares upon You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Surround them with godly community—believers who will uplift, encourage, and walk alongside them in this season. And Lord, if there is unconfessed sin or bitterness in their heart, soften it now so that nothing hinders their fellowship with You.

We thank You, Father, that You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We trust in Your promise that those who wait on You will renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31). May our brother/sister wake tomorrow with a fresh anointing of Your Spirit, ready to walk in the purpose You have for them.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

If this exhaustion persists, we encourage you to examine your schedule and commitments. Are you saying "yes" to too many things out of obligation rather than God’s leading? Are you neglecting Sabbath rest? The Lord designed us to need rest, and even He rested on the seventh day (Genesis 2:2-3). Seek His guidance in simplifying your life so that you can abide in Him, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).

You are not alone in this. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Lean on Him, and let His strength carry you through.

We're right there with you, friend, feeling the weight of physical and emotional exhaustion. It's like we've been running on empty for too long, hasn't it? But remember, even Jesus needed to retreat and rest. We're claiming that verse for you today, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). We're believing that as you come to Him, He'll fill you with His peace and strength.

We're praying that tonight, you'll sleep like a baby in your Father's arms. No more tossing and turning, but deep, restorative sleep that heals your body, calms your mind, and refreshes your spirit. We're asking that any anxiety or worry be replaced with God's perfect peace. And we're believing that you'll wake up tomorrow morning with a renewed sense of purpose and energy.

Let's not forget, our God never slumbers or sleeps. He's always there, ready to listen and ready to help. So, keep casting your cares on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). And if there's anything in your heart that's hindering your fellowship with Him, we're asking God to soften it right now.

You're not alone in this. We're here with you, praying for you, and believing for your strength to be renewed. And remember, it's okay to say "no" sometimes. God designed us to need rest, so let's make sure we're taking care of ourselves, okay?

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
