We are so blessed that you shared Philippians 4:13 with us, for this is a powerful declaration of truth, I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13.
We rejoice with you in this promise, and we want to share together the beautiful context in which the apostle Paul wrote these words, so that you may be even more encouraged. Paul was not writing from a place of ease or triumph in the worldly sense, but from prison, having learned the secret of contentment in every circumstance. He says just before this, Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. Philippians 4:11-12. Then comes that wonderful conclusion, that through Christ we are strengthened to endure, to persevere, to be content, and to be faithful whether in abundance or in need, in strength or in weakness.
This verse is not a promise that we can accomplish any earthly ambition by our own will, but that Christ Himself will give us the strength to do all things that are His will for us, to bear all trials, to resist temptation, to serve, to love, and to stand firm. Apart from Him we can do nothing, as Jesus says, For apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5. And His strength is made perfect in our weakness, for He has said, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9. What a comfort that when we feel weak, we are in the perfect place to receive His power.
We also love how this verse points us directly to Christ, for it is only through Him that we have strength and access to the Father, and we thank you for lifting up His name. Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. It is by believing in Him, in His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are saved and strengthened.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for Your Word and for the promise that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We ask that You deepen our understanding of this truth and help us to live it daily. Where we are weak, be our strength. Where we are anxious, grant us Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Philippians 4:7. Where we face trials, temptations, or needs, teach us to be content and to rely wholly on Christ. We pray that You would remind us not to trust in our own strength, but to wait upon You, for You have promised, Fear not, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, guide us to walk in Your will, and let Your power rest upon us so that Christ may be glorified in our lives. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, amen.

Sometimes that verse gets heard as pressure to push harder on our own, but we have found it is really about where strength comes from when our own runs out. Christ does not just give us a boost to do everything we imagine, He stays with us and strengthens us for what He has actually called us to in each day, even the small, unseen things.
One thing that has helped others is to pause and notice where that strength is already showing up. You might take a few minutes today to name one or two strengths God has already placed in you, maybe perseverance, kindness, steadiness under pressure, or willingness to keep showing up, and thank Him for them. Then bring one specific situation where you feel weak to Him and ask for His strength for just that next step.
We are praying for you and standing with you in this.

Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. The verse you have laid upon our hearts is a most precious word, and rightly understood it is full of comfort. The apostle did not mean that by Christ we may do whatsoever our own wills desire, but that in every condition appointed by providence, whether abounding or suffering need, whether in want or in plenty, we may be sustained and made content through Him who strengthens us.
This strength is not our own. Every good thing that is in the Christian not merely begins, but progresses and is consummated by the fostering grace of God through Jesus Christ. He was made a perfect Savior through sufferings, not made perfect in character for He was always perfect, but made officially perfect as the Captain of our salvation, that He might be able to succor them that are tempted and to bear them through every trial. There is nothing wanting to clear the way to the mercy seat, for we have a new and living way through His body, and therefore we may come boldly to receive strength for the hour of need.
To know this strength you must abide in Christ. The one way by which a soul is saved is by that soul abiding in Christ, as the branch draws its sap from the vine, so do we continue to derive our life and supplies from Christ Himself. Faith hangs on to Christ in the dark, it holds to Him and will not let Him go, and that faith, though it be but small, links the soul to Christ and that soul is saved. It is not great faith that is essential, but faith that lays hold upon a great Savior.
May the Lord therefore teach you to persevere in being nothing and letting Christ be everything, to rest wholly and simply in the power of the grace which is in Christ Jesus. May He give you to sing aloud unto God your strength, and to prove in every duty and every affliction that His grace is sufficient for you. Cast yourself anew upon Christ, trust Him to perform the good work He has begun in you until the day of Jesus Christ, and you shall find that you can indeed do all things which He calls you to do, through Christ who strengthens you.

The apostle Paul did not write these words to promise that we can accomplish any ambition we set for ourselves, but to confess that in every condition, whether in abundance or in need, in trials or in rest, Christ gives strength to endure and to stand firm.
You can see this in his own life. He was pressed on every side, perplexed and pursued, and yet not crushed and not forsaken, because the power and grace of God sustained him. Trials do come, not because God has forsaken you, but because He is training His athletes and making their faith manifest, and He allows nothing to come upon you without also providing the strength to bear it. That strength is not from human power alone, but from Christ working in you as you also resolve to remain faithful.
So take this promise in its full meaning. It is strength to be content when things are hard, strength to remain humble when things are easy, strength to turn from sin, to bear your cross, to persevere in prayer, and to do the duties God has given you each day. Keep asking Him without ceasing, for He hears perseverance, and He will keep you firm and imperturbable even when you are assaulted on every side.
I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ Himself will strengthen you according to this word, that you will know His presence in every trial, grow in contentment and godliness, and live in a way that bears His name with honor in thought, word and deed. May He grant you grace to trust Him more deeply, to walk in obedience to His word, and to find your life and hope in Him alone.
