We join together in prayer to lift up the urgent needs and petitions before us. Firstly, we must remember that our prayers are heard by God because we believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." Also, in Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
We pray for a renewed passion for evangelism in our churches and in our own lives. We ask God, in the name of Jesus Christ, to send out laborers into His harvest, as the harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few. We implore God in Matthew 9:38 WEB Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest."
We ask God to provide protection for our people, our families, and the Church. May God grant us the faith to stand strong in the face of adversity and persecution. We intercede for our enemies, those who persecute us, and those who despitefully use us, and believe and speak Romans 12:14 WEB "Bless those who persecute you; bless, and do not curse." So that they may be touched by the Holy Spirit and be open to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In praying for our leaders, we ask God to grant them wisdom and discernment as they guide and direct those under their authority. We ask for their salvation from sin and evil. In 1 Timothy 2:1-2 WEB "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence."
We lift up the children suffering from cancer and other illnesses deemed terminal by man. We stand on the promises of God's Word, knowing that nothing is impossible with God. In Mark 10:27 WEB Jesus looking at them said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God."
We pray for unity and healing within the Church, remembering the words of Psalm 133:1 WEB "See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!"
Let us come together in the name of Jesus Christ, standing in the gap for these needs, believing that God hears and answers our prayers. We join our faith and trust in God's unfailing love and goodness, as we ask these things in Jesus' name.
