I ask for prayers that I may become wealthier than the leaders of the United States, Russia, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, England, Spain, South Africa, Tunisia, Egypt, Dubai, the Philippines, Turkey, Italy, and France. We hear your request for prayer regarding your desire to secure a good, stable job abroad and your aspirations for wealth and favor. First, we want to acknowledge that seeking God’s provision and guidance in your career is a valid and important matter. The Bible assures us that the Lord cares for our needs and will provide for those who seek Him. "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33 WEB). This verse reminds us to prioritize God’s will and trust Him to meet our needs according to His wisdom and timing.

However, we must gently rebuke the prideful and misplaced focus in parts of your request. Asking for favor with worldly leaders, such as the ###, or desiring to become wealthier than the leaders of many nations, reveals a heart that may be seeking earthly status and riches above godly contentment and humility. Scripture warns us, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows" (1 Timothy 6:10 WEB). Wealth and power in themselves are not evil, but when they become the primary focus of our hearts, they can lead us away from God’s purpose for our lives.

We also notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). It is only by the name of Jesus that we can approach God in prayer, and it is only through faith in Him that we receive salvation and eternal life. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to consider doing so, for "there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB).

Let us pray for you with a heart aligned to God’s will:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this individual to You, asking that You would guide them in their search for a good and stable job abroad. Lord, we pray that You would open doors of opportunity that align with Your perfect will for their life. Provide them with work that is honorable, fulfilling, and glorifying to You. Help them to trust in Your timing and to seek Your kingdom above all else.

Father, we ask that You would guard their heart against the love of money and the desire for earthly power. Teach them to be content in whatever circumstances they find themselves, knowing that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5 WEB). Help them to seek first Your righteousness and to find their worth and identity in Christ alone.

Lord, we also pray for a transformation of their heart. If they do not yet know You as their personal Savior, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself. Reveal to them the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus Christ died for their sins and rose again so that they might have eternal life. May they repent of any pride or misplaced desires and surrender their life fully to You.

Father, we ask that You would bless them with wisdom, discernment, and favor in their endeavors, but more importantly, that You would bless them with a deep and abiding relationship with You. May they grow in faith, humility, and love for You and others. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to reflect on what truly matters in God’s eyes. Instead of seeking wealth and status, seek to live a life that honors Him. "But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can’t carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that" (1 Timothy 6:6-8 WEB). Trust in God’s provision and seek His will above all else. If you are feeling overwhelmed or uncertain, remember that God has a plan for your life, and it is a plan for good, not for harm, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).

Lastly, we urge you to examine your motives and align them with Scripture. If your desire for wealth and favor is rooted in pride or a love for the things of this world, confess this to God and ask Him to renew your heart. "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10 WEB). Walk in humility and trust God to lead you in the path of righteousness for His name’s sake.

We’re glad you reached out and asked us to pray with you. Your desire for a good, stable job abroad and for favor in the eyes of someone like the President of Madagascar tells us you’re thinking about your future and want to step into something secure and meaningful. The richest life is often the one that rests in God’s presence, where our worth isn’t measured by a bank balance. So while we absolutely ask Him to provide for every genuine need you have, we’re also praying that He shapes your desires in a way that brings you lasting joy, not just a higher number on a chart.

We’re praying right now that God opens the right door for you abroad, a position where your skills are valued and where you can flourish. We’re asking Him to surround you with wise mentors and authorities who see your character clearly, whether that’s a president or a supervisor. Above all, we’re praying that you’ll know the deep security that comes from being anchored in Christ, who holds your future.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this person who is searching for a steady job overseas. You know the exact place where they can thrive and provide for themselves. Open that door clearly and give them peace in the waiting. Grant them favor with the people they’ll work alongside and lead them away from anything that would harm their soul. Quiet the restless urge to compare or compete for more, and instead fill their heart with contentment and trust in Your perfect provision. May they discover that true wealth is found in knowing You. Your request comes as a cry for a good job abroad, for the high regard of a president, and for riches surpassing the kings of the earth. This is the voice of the natural heart, which ever longs for Egypt’s fleshpots and the applause of men. But I beseech you to weigh by the balances of the sanctuary what you are asking. What is this prosperity you chase? Job himself, when his glory was fresh in him, soon found how quickly a bow unstrung can be renewed only by the hand of God. You say, “I shall be anointed with fresh oil,” but the oil that man seeks from the world is a polluting unction. True freshness comes from God alone, and He often strips us of earthly comforts that we might find our all in Him.

Your prayer betrays a soul that has not yet learned to say, “The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” You ask to be wealthier than the potentates of many nations. What is this but to build your nest on a sandbank which the next tide will wash away? Remember the word: “Lay up treasure, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt,” and count all else but dust. Our Lord Jesus, whose pleasure prospers in His hand, had not where to lay His head. Are you greater than He? The servant is not above his Master.

It is a small thing to be held in high regard by the President of Madagascar if the King of kings regards you not. The favor of the Lord, that is the true prosperity. “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion,” is the promise for the church, and for every believer this is the set time of favor. But you seek favor from men, not from the Most High. I tremble for any who would rather be esteemed by the great ones of earth than to take pleasure in the very stones and dust of Zion. Your heart runs abroad for honors, but the health of the soul is found at home with God.

You speak of a good, stable job. It is right to labour and to ask daily bread. But to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness is the heavenly order. When the church prospers, it is in the salvation of sinners, not in the swelling of the purse. Godliness with contentment is great gain. To fret after more is to pierce oneself with many sorrows. I charge you, examine yourself: if you were as poor as Job upon the ash-heap, could you say with him, “I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth Thee, wherefore I abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes”? Ah, that is the vision that makes true riches!

In all his trial Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. But your request, if granted, might well prove your undoing. Unmitigated prosperity is more dangerous than the devil’s afflictions; many a saint has stood firm in the fire and melted under the sun of ease. You ask that a president hold you in high regard, this is the very net the fowler spreads for your soul. Flee to Christ, and be content to be unknown, even despised, if only you might win Him. Better to have the promise of peace at home and the prosperity of the gospel abroad than all the glitter of earthly thrones. The Lord give you grace to seek a better country, that is, an heavenly. Amen.

The prayer you ask reveals a heart fixed on treasures that moth and rust destroy. You seek to be wealthier than the rulers of many nations and to secure the high regard of a president, yet these are fleeting shadows. If you seek riches, seek those that are stable and enduring, the fruit of good works. For how richly and ungrudgingly are the gifts of air, light, and water bestowed, yet God has given what is more precious than heaven and earth: He has shed abroad His love in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, rendering us sons of God and brethren of Christ. This is the full fountain of His blessings, given before our labors, that we might not despond but trust in His love as our mighty pleader.

Do you wish to be cheerful, to employ the day in true wealth? Learn to sing psalms, and you will see the delightfulness of that employment. For they who sing psalms are filled with the Holy Spirit, as they who chase worldly gain are filled with an unclean spirit, which cuts off the articulate sound of the tongue and distorts the whole frame. The desire of Christ is to bring men to God, to teach virtue, to proclaim the kingdom. How then can a heart that scatters its longings among the riches of presidents and kings co-operate with Him? His Spirit blows where it lists with power that none can hinder, spreading abroad everywhere. Turn your hope, then, from mortal favor and fleeting wealth to the Son from heaven, who was crucified, raised, and taken up, and who will come to judge the quick and the dead. That is the hope that makes not ashamed, for it rests not on our well-doings, but on God's love.

Even the devout men who buried Stephen made great lamentation, for they were not yet perfect in understanding. So too, your request shows a soul needing to grow from fear and earthly desire into the stability of grace. Persecutions and scatterings came upon the early Church by divine ordering, that they should no longer sit in one place, but spread the word. I pray, then, that the Spirit will scatter abroad the vain ambitions in your heart and plant instead the desire for that good, stable job which serves the kingdom, wherever God may place you, whether at home or abroad. Seek first His righteousness, and all these needed things will be added, not the wealth of nations, but the daily bread that comes from His hand, which is better than the riches of many wicked. Let your prayer be rather that you may be held in high regard by the Lord of all, and may become rich in good works, laying up treasure in heaven, where no earthly leader can cast you down. This is the true wealth, and for this I will gladly pray.
