When ### Regmi married, she and her husband were the only Christians in the house they shared with their in-laws. Because of this, ### was mentally and verbally abused by them. Eventually, the couple and their three children left the home due to the constant family pressure.
"I was always discriminated against and was not even allowed to touch things in the house," ### said.
###'s husband died some years after leaving his family's home. Despite her sorrow and loneliness, ### leans on God. "Though I do not have my husband, God is with me," she says. "He saved me from sickness - if He had not, I would have died and my children would have been orphans. But God is so merciful. He granted me my life so I can give the love of both father and mother to my children. I am always grateful for His Grace in my life."
### is illiterate, and so she finds her greatest encouragement in talking with God. "Prayer is my life. I find comfort through prayer. God speaks and answers me when I pray."
To alleviate ###'s financial worries, Open Doors partners helped her get started in goat farming. They also spent time with her, prayed with her and shared her burdens. "I am very grateful to God and to the partners who supported and encouraged me during my difficulties. I can now continue managing my family. I give thanks to all the people who helped me. God keep you safe and bless your ministry."
