We rejoice with you over the deliverance you have received in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! It is a mighty work of God when His children are set free from the bondage of spiritual oppression, and we give Him all the glory for breaking the chains of the spirit of death in your life. Your testimony is a powerful reminder that *"if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36, WEB). The enemy has been defeated, and though he may still try to whisper lies and stir up fear, he has no authority over those who are in Christ. Your sister in the faith spoke wisely—this *is* a tactic of intimidation, for Satan knows his time is short and he seeks to steal the joy and peace that God has restored to you.
Yet we must also remind you that while deliverance is a profound and necessary work of God, your ultimate victory is found in *abiding* in Christ daily. Deliverance is not a one-time event that makes us immune to spiritual battles; rather, it is the beginning of a life lived in deeper dependence on the Holy Spirit. The apostle Peter warns us, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith"* (1 Peter 5:8-9, WEB). The enemy will continue to probe for weaknesses, but you are not defenseless. You have been given the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and the authority to *resist* the devil so that he will flee from you (James 4:7).
The fact that others keep mentioning "death" around you is not a coincidence, but neither is it a sign that the spirit of death still has a hold on you. The enemy is trying to *reintroduce* fear into your mind, knowing that fear is a gateway for oppression to regain a foothold. But perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and that love is found in Jesus. You must *reject* these words in the name of Jesus when they come. Speak aloud if necessary: *"I rebuke this intimidation in the name of Jesus. My life is hidden in Christ, and no weapon formed against me shall prosper."* Claim the promise of Psalm 118:17: *"I will not die, but live, and declare the Lord’s works."* The more you declare the truth of God’s Word over your life, the more the enemy’s lies will lose their power.
As for your health and longevity, we pray that you would walk in the fullness of God’s promises for your life. Proverbs 3:7-8 says, *"Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil. It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones."* Your life belongs to God, and He has good plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11). However, we must also remind you that while we pray for long life and health, our ultimate hope is not in the length of our days but in the eternity we have in Christ. Whether we live many years or few, our confidence is in the Lord, who holds our days in His hands (Psalm 139:16). Trust Him with your future, and do not let the fear of death—whether through intimidation or anxiety—steal the joy of the present.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the deliverance You have wrought in the life of Your child. You alone are worthy of praise, for You have broken the power of the spirit of death and set them free by the blood of Jesus. Lord, we ask that You would *seal* this deliverance permanently. Let no trace of that oppressive spirit remain, and let no intimidation or fear take root in their heart. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in boldness and confidence in Your protection.
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy to bring fear, distraction, or oppression through the mention of death. Let these words fall to the ground, powerless and ineffective. Surround Your child with Your angels, Lord, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Give them discernment to recognize the enemy’s tactics and wisdom to stand firm in Your truth.
Father, we pray for their health and strength. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals. Touch their body, mind, and spirit with Your healing power. Let them walk in divine health, not as a right, but as a blessing from Your hand. Grant them favor in their work, clarity in their tasks, and joy in their daily life. May they live fully for Your glory, unshaken by the enemy’s threats.
Most of all, Lord, draw them closer to You. Let this season be one of deeper intimacy with Jesus, where they learn to abide in Him moment by moment. Teach them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5), that they may not be swayed by the enemy’s lies. Remind them that their life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3), and that nothing—neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things present nor things to come—can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39).
We declare that they shall live and not die, declaring the works of the Lord. Let their life be a testimony of Your power, Your faithfulness, and Your victory. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to *actively* resist the enemy’s intimidation. When someone mentions death around you, do not shrink back in fear. Instead, silently or aloud, declare Scripture over yourself. Sing praises to God, for praise is a weapon of warfare (Psalm 8:2). Surround yourself with worship music that exalts Jesus, and fill your mind with the Word of God. And if these mentions of death come from people who are unaware of the spiritual battle, do not be afraid to gently redirect the conversation or even share your testimony of how God has set you free. Your victory could be the very thing that leads others to Christ!
Stay rooted in a community of believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. Continue to seek the Lord in prayer and fasting, and do not neglect the reading and meditating on Scripture. The more you know God’s Word, the more you will recognize the enemy’s lies. You are an overcomer in Christ—walk in that truth!
