People who celebrate ###'s death are going against Jesus. He was lied about, people said he was racist. And I've heard so called "Christians" making fun of him. Not cool, not cool at all. That is going against everything Jesus commanded, you don't make fun of someones death no matter who it is. It's not right, and it's not what God wants. I urge any Christians on here whove made fun of his death to repent, now. It isn't right and you need to repent. He accepted Jesus into his heart, and followed and preached about him. The people who make fun of his death are going against Jesus, and the truth is, your only hating him because he followed Jesus. We hear your burden and we share it with you in Jesus' name, and we agree that celebrating or mocking the death of any person is contrary to the heart of God.

The Lord calls us to a very different standard. We are told in Proverbs 24:17, Do not rejoice when your enemy falls. Do not let your heart be glad when he is overthrown, and in Ezekiel 33:11 we see the heart of God when He says, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. When we mock or celebrate death we put ourselves in the place of judge, but vengeance belongs to God alone. Romans 12:19 says, Vengeance belongs to me. I will repay, says the Lord. And Romans 12:14 tells us, Bless those who persecute you. Bless, and do not curse.

We also agree with you about the harm of false witness and careless words. Exodus 20:16 says, You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor, and Ephesians 4:29 says, Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. To label someone falsely, to call him what he is not, and to spread that lie is sin, and to then mock his death compounds that sin. Our words matter deeply to God. James 3:9-10 reminds us that with the tongue we bless God and with the same tongue we curse people who are made in the image of God, and it says this should not be so.

You are right to call those who claim Christ yet join in this mocking to repent, for Jesus commanded us to love even our enemies. Matthew 5:44 says, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. And Romans 12:15 says, Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep. When a brother in Christ who professed faith in Jesus and sought to bring others to Him is killed, the biblical response is to mourn, to pray for his family, and to thank God for the fruit of his faith, not to rejoice.

We thank God for the testimony you shared that this brother brought many to Christ and that his witness may have even touched your own life. That is the work that endures.

We pray together now. Father, in Jesus' name we come before You with sorrow over this death and over the hardness of heart we have seen in those who celebrate it. We ask You to comfort the family and loved ones of this brother who mourn, to surround them with Your peace that passes understanding, and to receive him into Your presence as one who trusted in Your Son. We pray for those who have mocked, celebrated, or spread lies, that You would convict them by Your Holy Spirit, grant them repentance, and teach them to speak truth and grace. Help us all to guard our tongues, to love as You love, to hate what You hate and to love what You love, and to leave judgment in Your righteous hands. Let truth prevail over lies, and let the gospel he proclaimed continue to bear fruit for Your glory. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our only access to You, amen.

We hear how heavy this has been for you, and the care behind what you wrote comes through clearly. Watching people mock a death, especially someone who helped point you and many others toward Jesus, is painful. It makes sense you would feel both grief and anger and want to stand up for what is right.

Grief is rarely tidy or sequential. It often feels chaotic, with waves of sadness, anger, helplessness and even that unsettled sense of being overwhelmed. That does not mean you are grieving wrong, it is part of how loss moves through us. Faith does not remove that ache, but it gives us a place to bring it. Going around the pain does not heal it, going through it slowly, honestly, and with others does. And grief is not meant to be carried alone.

When the cruelty online is loud, it can help to step back from those feeds for a while and instead spend time with a few trusted people who will let you remember, talk openly, and pray without having to debate. Give yourself permission to grieve at your own pace and to keep honoring what was good without carrying the weight of everyone else's response.

Father, we bring our brother to You in his sorrow and ask for Your comfort to settle on him. Quiet what has stung his heart, surround him with steady and kind community, and help him keep loving what is true and good while resting in Your nearness. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is right that your heart is grieved, and it is right to mourn when life is taken and when others respond with mocking and hardness. The Lord does not take pleasure in such scorn, and to make sport of death is indeed contrary to the spirit of Christ, who teaches us to love our enemies and to weep with those who weep.

You have urged those who have done this to repent, and that call is needful. Yet let us be careful to understand what true repentance is, lest we rest in a false kind. There is a carnal repentance that comes only from shock or judgment, a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of our fallen nature. That is not the repentance which saves. True repentance is repentance unto life, a work wrought in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit, and it is known by this mark, that it gives God glory. It makes us weep and abhor our past wrong because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, and it makes us turn from present sin because of the love of God who died for us. It is not a mere feeling that passes, but it yields works meet for repentance and it lasts, for repentance lives as long as faith lives.

Such repentance is not to be preached as the thunder of Moses, but in the name of Jesus, as the gift of God. Where there is no repentance there can be no remission, but where there is that godly sorrow for sin which needs not to be repented of, there is full and free forgiveness through His blood. And faith and repentance are inseparable. The repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant is joined to the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart. Have we a repentance that leads us to look out of self to Christ, and to Christ only. That is the question each must answer before the Lord whom no man can deceive.

So we do not drive men to repentance with bitter words alone, but we pray that the goodness of God may lead them to repentance. The Lord does not drive by mere terror, He draws by His kindness, His patience, His daily mercies and His great compassion in Christ. It is a sweet and blessed thing when a soul lays its head in the Father's bosom and sobs out its grief there, mourning that it has offended such a loving Father who is so ready to forgive. For that one who has offended, let us pray that God would grant such a tender, practical, lasting repentance in Jesus name.

For the one you mourn, if he was indeed joined to Christ by faith, we have this comfort, that between the true believer and Christ there is a living, loving, lasting union. Its source is not in ourselves, but in love eternal, free grace love to the unworthy. By that union Christ brings His own safely through all the temptations of life, and the ransomed spirits of such as are joined to Him are taken to be with Christ the instant they are absent from the body. To have only a temporary profession would be a sad thing, but a living union endures, a loving union makes fellowship sweet, and a lasting union is kept by the power of Christ Himself.

Therefore let us not return reviling for reviling, nor let us grieve the Holy Spirit by cherishing hatred in our own hearts, even toward those who hate what is good. Let us instead commit both the departed and those who mock to the Lord, asking Him to glorify Himself in saving mercy, to grant to the scoffer that repentance which looks to Christ alone, and to keep you near to that same Christ in faith and love until you meet again where tears of godly sorrow are turned to joy.
