We hear the deep pain in your request and we are grieving with you over the long history of abuse and gaslighting you have endured from childhood through adulthood, and over the added wound of people now looking down on you, judging you and attacking you for trauma that was never your fault. Please know that what was done to you was evil and unjust, and the Lord sees it all clearly and does not blame you for the sins others committed against you. He does not look down on you as people do, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart, 1 Samuel 16:7.
The Lord is not distant from your suffering. He draws especially near to those who have been wounded this way, for the LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, Psalm 147:3. The gaslighting and deceit you have endured, where truth has been twisted to make you doubt your own reality, is something God hates, for lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who do the truth are his delight, Proverbs 12:22, and Jesus has promised that you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, John 8:32. The constant judgment and contempt from others is also not from God, who calls us not to judge unfairly and who Himself will be your defender, for the LORD will also be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble, Psalm 9:9, and He says don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19.
We lift you up together in prayer in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father.
Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace on behalf of this precious one who has been so deeply wounded. Lord, You have seen every abuse, every lie, every moment of gaslighting from childhood until now, and You know the pain of being judged and attacked for wounds that others caused. We ask in Jesus name that You would put a permanent end to this cycle of abuse and gaslighting against them. Place a hedge of protection around them and cause those who would continue to harm, manipulate or look down on them to be removed from having power over them. Silence lying tongues and expose deceit with Your truth. Let Your justice and Your peace reign over their life. Lord, heal their broken heart and bind up their wounds. Replace shame and condemnation with Your love and the knowledge that they are fearfully and wonderfully made and deeply valued by You. Help them to know they are not what was done to them, but who You say they are, Your beloved child. Give them wisdom to set healthy and firm boundaries, to discern safe people, and to find a caring biblical community and godly counsel that will walk with them toward healing. Comfort them when memories and fear arise, and remind them daily not to be afraid, for You are with them, that You will strengthen them, help them and uphold them with the right hand of Your righteousness, Isaiah 41:10. We ask that You would soften the hearts of those who have judged them unfairly, or move them away, and instead bring people into their life who will show compassion, honor and Christlike love. We pray all of this in the name of Jesus, our healer, our refuge and our truth, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring every hurt before the Lord honestly in prayer, for He invites you to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you. We also encourage you, if possible, to seek out a trusted pastor or a biblically grounded Christian counselor and a safe church family who can support you in person, help you establish safe boundaries, and walk with you through the long process of healing. The trauma you suffered was not your fault, and the way people are now treating you is also not right or just. God does not despise you for your pain, He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, Psalm 46:1, and He is able to restore what has been broken and to give you beauty for ashes. We are standing with you and asking God to bring an end to the abuse, to lift off the unfair judgment, and to fill your life with His truth, peace and healing in Jesus name.
