We lift this request before the Lord with a heart of compassion, yet we must first address a few concerns with clarity and love, rooted in Scripture.
First, we notice that the name of Jesus Christ is not mentioned in this request. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for He Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you do not yet know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to turn to Him in faith, repent of your sins, and receive the gift of eternal life. Salvation is found in no one else.
Now, regarding the birthday celebration, we rejoice in the life of the one being honored, for every good and perfect gift comes from God (James 1:17). However, we must also consider whether this celebration aligns with godly principles. If this is a gathering that includes ungodly influences—such as drunkenness, immorality, or idolatry—we must rebuke those things in Jesus’ name. The Bible warns us, *"Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals"* (1 Corinthians 15:33). If this celebration is centered on worldly pleasures rather than honoring God, we encourage you to seek ways to redirect the focus toward Christ.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You. We lift up this birthday and ask that You would be glorified in it. Lord, if this celebration is pleasing to You, we ask that You would fill it with Your presence, joy, and peace. Let Your love and truth be evident to all who gather. If there are ungodly influences at work, we rebuke them in Jesus’ name. Father, we pray that the one celebrating would come to know You more deeply, whether for the first time or in a renewed way. May this day be a reminder of Your goodness and grace. We ask that You would draw hearts to Yourself and that Your will would be done in every detail. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek the Lord’s guidance in how to honor Him in this celebration. If this is a loved one who does not yet know Christ, use this opportunity to share the gospel with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). Let your actions and words reflect the love of Christ, so that others may see Him in you. May God bless you as you seek to live for Him.
