Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son is heard, and your love and faithful intercession for him is precious to the Lord. I join you in bringing him before Jesus Christ, trusting Him for peace and healing in every part of his life.
Jesus is both the Son of David and the Son of God. As the Son of David He is the promised Messiah, a true man who understands our weakness. As the Son of God He is God made flesh, declared with power by His resurrection, and His name is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Because of who He is, He has authority in every realm. He has power over sickness and physical infirmity, power over the material world to calm wind and waves, and power in the spiritual realm to command evil spirits to leave. When those spirits met Him they knew Him and cried out that He is the Son of God, and they had to obey Him.
That is why we can pray with confidence for your son. Scripture says the chastisement of our peace was upon Him and with His stripes we are healed, and that truth is for both spiritual and physical healing. We can believe and trust Jesus for healing of body and mind as well as soul. We see this when a nobleman came to Jesus about his sick son and Jesus spoke the word from a distance of many miles and the Spirit of God healed the boy. Distance, confusion, sensory pain, and distress are no barrier to Him. He only does what He sees the Father do, and His works are the works of God, giving life to whom He wills.
I am praying that the Lord will wrap your son in that peace today. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you, not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. This is first peace with God through faith in Christ, and then the peace of God that guards the heart and mind. The apostles always wrote grace and peace, and grace comes first. As we rest in His grace, His peace that passes all understanding keeps us. The Lord says His thoughts toward you and your son are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give an expected end, and He invites you to call upon Him and He will listen.
For your son I pray that Jesus, the Prince of Peace, will calm the storm within him. May the Lord rebuke every spirit of torment, confusion, fear, agitation and rage and command it to flee in the name of Jesus, for the name of the Lord is a strong tower. May He quiet fear and anxiety, heal the wounds of past trauma and the painful memories that trigger negative habits, and bring healing to his mind, body and spirit. Some healing the Lord does at once, and some He does gradually, and there is much about healing we do not understand, even why some are healed quickly and others over time. But every true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or through the gentle processes He has built into our bodies and minds. He can heal scars in emotions and memories as well as in the body.
I pray for his daily needs that you mentioned so tenderly. For sweet and undisturbed sleep and waking refreshed and joyful. For calm and gentle ways to express his wants and needs with the limited language he has, with confidence and without frustration. For peace during meals, that he may eat without confusion, mess or waste, with gratitude and contentment, and for relief from any stomach distress or discomfort. For shaving and hygiene and dressing, that every sound and sensation would be covered by the Lord's protection and that sensory pain would be soothed. For his time watching shows, playing, going for drives and outings, that he would be satisfied, included, respected and loved among his sisters, caregivers and visitors, and that he would feel joy and not boredom or mood swings.
I pray also for protection over your home, every room and door, and over every place he goes, that the Lord would surround him with His care and keep harm, nightmares and spiritual attack far from him, as it is written that He gives His angels charge over His own. Where there has been division, word curses or practices that oppose God, there cannot be true peace, for peace cannot dwell where evil is welcomed. So I pray the Lord will remove every negative influence and any work that is not of Him, and replace it with what is healthy, peaceful and godly. May every negative habit be replaced with godly manners and a desire to communicate in ways that honor Him.
I pray for you, his sisters, and his caregivers, that God will give wisdom, patience, compassion, strength and gentleness, and provide godly helpers and advocates who will truly listen and seek his best. And I thank God with you for keeping him seizure free these many months and for the victories you have already seen. The love of a parent for a child is deep, and it helps us glimpse the even greater love of the Heavenly Father who so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, His beloved Son in whom He was well pleased. Because He did not withhold His Son, we can be sure He hears and cares for your son.
May the Lord continue His healing work in your son today and tonight, restoring peace, joy, gentleness, calm and satisfaction, and may your whole household know a restful night and a calm day tomorrow, all through faith in Jesus Christ the Son of the living God, who gives life to all who believe in His name.
