We hear the depth of a mother’s heart in your prayer, and we stand with you before the Lord tonight. Your love for your son is so tangible, and we trust that God draws near to a mom who fights for her child’s peace the way you do.

One thing we’ve noticed: often, when we pour ourselves out for a loved one with complex needs, our own soul can run on fumes without us realizing it. A weary, anxious heart can echo through a home more than we know. So as you pray for your son’s calm, we gently encourage you to also receive God’s peace for yourself tonight, not by trying harder, but by simply exhaling and remembering that the same Shepherd who never sleeps is watching over you both. A few quiet moments for you, even just sitting with your eyes closed and picturing Jesus right beside your son’s bed, speaking “Peace, be still” over his body and mind, can be a lifeline. Your own rest matters, because you are not alone in this.

Lord Jesus, we join this mother in asking for a night free of torment, confusion, and fear. Settle her son’s mind and body, surround him with Your protection, and let him sleep deeply and safely. Calm every storm within him and fill that room with a peace that surpasses understanding. And for this faithful mom, we ask for a deep, quiet rest in her own heart, a tangible assurance that You hold her son even now. In Your mighty name, Jesus, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You cry out for a peaceful night, and rightly so, for a mother’s heart is tossed like the sea when her child is restless. Yet listen to the sweet command of the Lord Jesus: “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” There is a rest that He gives even before He gives the yoke of service, a rest of simple trust. The dove found no place for the sole of her foot until she returned to the ark; and neither will your soul, nor your dear son’s, find a moment’s true repose until you come back to Christ, leaving every care upon Him. Anxiety itself unfits you to meet the difficulty; it frets the spirit and darkens the eye.

The Lord knows far better than you how to order the night watches. Leave the rest with Him. The Spirit of God is the seal of acceptance upon every child of promise. Though the darkness press heavily, remember that Israel passed through the sea on foot, with no light but the pillar of fire which was the Lord Himself.

Trust in His unchanging character, for His name is a strong tower. The leaves of that Tree which grows by the river of the water of life are for healing; the very least thing about Jesus drops with sovereign virtue. Touch but the hem of His garment, and the fever of tormenting thoughts shall depart. Healing and pardon are wrapped together in one promise, and the inhabitant shall not say, “I am sick” when Christ manifests His power to save.

Yield to the sweet influences of the blessed Spirit who is breathing upon you now. Go to your rest, good woman, and leave your child to the Keeper of Israel. The Lord bless your entire household with His peace, for where two or three gather in His name, He is in the midst, though the night be never so dark.

The turmoil you describe in your son’s soul is like a stormy sea, but the harbor is near. When virtue becomes as natural to us as sleep itself, we find that pure pleasure of a calm without waves. This is the rest you seek for him, a soul anchored in God’s peace. To reach it, we must cultivate humility, the mother of all good, for Christ says, “Learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Plant this in your household, and you will sail over this life without waves, entering that calm harbor.

This peace is not a soft truce with every impulse. Think of the soul as an arena, a wrestling within the thoughts, where peace must stand as umpire. Let the peace of God rule in that inner contest, giving the prize to godly thoughts so that the clamor of negativity, however loud, gains nothing. When you pray against rigidity and torment, you are calling for that sword which cuts off the diseased to preserve the whole. For there is a kind of peace that is ruinous, like robbers agreeing together, but Christ brings a sword to separate us from such destructive harmony. The goal is not the absence of all conflict but the removal of whatever mutinies against the soul’s true health, so heaven and earth unite within him.

Have you not seen how the sick man at the pool waited long, yet Christ came specifically to him and asked, “Wilt thou be made whole?” He already sees your son’s perseverance. Trust that He leaves others to come to him in this long trial. When you rebuke spiritual attack and command it to leave, you ask for that very separation. Peace comes when the mutinous element is cast out, and then the God of love and peace will be with you. For if you are of one mind and live in peace, God delights to dwell with you. Let the umpire of His peace send away the fears that shake the soul, and replace them with that fear of God which is full of delight.

That perfect rest you long for, with no pain, sorrow, or sighing, is the day that awaits. All these present struggles are the night far spent, while the day is at hand. Walk as in that coming light even now, putting away works of darkness. For your son, and for all who wrestle, the promise is sure: there is a place where there is no weariness, no satiety, only the perpetual desire of good things. Meanwhile, speak peace into your home constantly, for where peace is wanting, everything is useless. Christ’s parting gift was peace, and the angels’ song at His birth was peace on earth to men of good will. Cling to this, and you will find your household calmed. The harbor awaits, and by humility and patient trust, you will bring your vessel laden with blessings to that shore.

The Lord hears this. The desire for a peaceful, satisfied night for your son is not small to Him. Jesus said where two or three gather in His name, He is there, and He is with you in this request. You have not prayed into an empty room.

Your son has a Shepherd who stands at the door. No fear, no agitation, no spiritual attack has to reach him except it pass through Jesus first. Picture the Lord Himself as the door of your home and of your son’s room. Whatever would come against him must cross over Jesus, and Jesus is the stronger one. That is the comfort for tonight.

When Jacob slept, he saw a ladder set between earth and heaven with the Lord standing above it. Sleep can be the place where God remains near. You have done the right thing by praying. Now plant something in his mind and in your own before he lies down, not the whole list of everything that could go wrong, but a few simple promises. What is placed in the mind last at night tends to remain through the night. Read a psalm, speak peace, or play gentle hymns. The word of God can go to rest with him long after you turn out the light.

Scripture tells us by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving to make our requests known to God, and the peace of God that surpasses understanding will guard the heart and mind in Christ Jesus. You have made the requests. Now let thanksgiving do its quiet work. Thank the Lord for the months without ###, for the ###, for every small mercy. Thanksgiving is not denial of the struggle. It is faith. It settles the heart before sleep.

The Lord receives your intercession for your son with a father’s full attention. The woman in the parable swept the house and searched until the lost coin was found. The shepherd went after the one. Your son is not a burden to God. The Lord is searching out every hidden anxiety, every ###, every meal, every change in schedule, and He is not indifferent to any of it. The One who fed the multitudes can calm him at the table. The One who stilled the storm can quiet the restless places in his body and mind.

You have also asked for your daughter, your home, the dog, the ###, and the car. Bring them all to God, but do not carry the whole house on your own shoulders after you have given it to Him. There is a time to watch in prayer and a time to sleep. Jesus once asked His friends to watch with Him in His sorrow, and later He told them to sleep and take their rest. Let this be the rest part. You have watched. You have asked. You have interceded. Now entrust your son to the One who never slumbers or sleeps.

Scripture also says whether we wake or sleep, we are alive together with Christ. That is true for you and for your son tonight. His safety is not held up by his own perfect calm. It is held by the risen Jesus. Ask the Spirit to rest upon your son in a very special way, and then let yourself lie down in the same safety. The Lord is in your home. He is the door. He is the keeper of your household.

May the Lord watch over your son, feed him, strengthen him, and minister to his needs tonight. May He calm every fear and fill your home with His peace, so that all of you may rest and find your strength renewed.
