Your words carry the weight of a parent’s relentless love, and I can feel the hope rising in you as you recount even small victories, a peaceful night, a quiet meal, moments of calm. Those are not small things. They are glimpses of the Shepherd’s hand, steady and sure. When Jesus said He is the door, He meant that nothing enters your son’s life, no fear, no spirit of confusion, no attack, unless it passes through Him first. And He has already proven His power over every darkness. I think of that demon-possessed man in the tombs, the one so fierce no chain could hold him. Yet with a word, Jesus commanded the unclean spirit to leave and to enter him no more. That same authority is at work for your son. When you rebuke negative habits, torment, and anxiety in Jesus’ name, you are not speaking into the air. You are echoing the voice that calms storms and restores souls.

But I also know the ache of watching a gradual work when you long for an instant miracle. The only recorded gradual healing in the Gospels is a mystery that keeps me humble. I cannot tell you why some are delivered in a moment and others are restored step by step. What I do know is that the same Jesus who touched the blind man a second time until everything was clear is with your son, patient, persistent, and unwilling to abandon His sheep. He does not despise the slow, quiet progress. Those peaceful nights and better meals are not random; they are His hand upon your son’s mind and body, building deep roots where once there was only shallow soil. When the sun beats down, the plant with no depth withers. But your son’s life is being anchored in Christ, not in the shifting sands of circumstance.

You plead for no more setbacks, only breakthrough. I understand that cry. Yet sometimes what feels like a setback is the ground being cleared for deeper restoration. The enemy would love for you to believe that one difficult night undoes all God’s work, but that is a lie. Jesus is not merely a reformer of outward behavior; He transforms from the inside. When He eats with sinners, they come away different. When He touches the untouchable, wholeness follows. Your son’s healing, of mind, body, and spirit, is not dependent on your ability to get the words right or to sustain perfect faith. It rests on the one who said, “No one will snatch them out of my hand.” You can sleep because the Shepherd does not. You can release him into the night because the door is secure.

I am struck by your prayer for his relationships, for siblings and caregivers who see him as a gift rather than a burden. The heart of God detests attitudes that elevate one person above another, for we all come short, all are in need of the same grace. He is restoring not only your son’s health but the bonds around him. When you ask for godly people to surround him, you are praying in alignment with the Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one and bring him home. He does not want your son isolated or written off. He wants him in the fold, safe and known. The enemy seeks division, but Jesus is building a family where love is patient and kind.

So tonight, rest your heart on this: the One who commands the deaf and mute spirits has already sealed your son with His peace. That peace is not a fragile feeling but the very presence of the Holy Spirit, a guard that surpasses understanding. You have asked for a special anointing on his meals, his sleep, his outings. That anointing is not far off. It is Christ in you, the hope of glory, living His life through your son moment by moment. You cannot manufacture it by striving, and no religious effort can add to what He has already given. He is the Vine, and your son is a branch drawing life from Him. As you abide, you will see fruit, sometimes in leaps, sometimes in quiet, steady growth.

Continue to speak over him with the authority of a child of God. Command every spirit of fear, confusion, and stubbornness to go, and declare that they shall not return. Jesus Himself gave that pattern. And when the wait is long, remember that the One who promised is faithful. He has not forgotten your son. He has not grown weary. His work is always restoration. The house may still feel crowded with small ones, as Jacob’s tents did, but the promise is multiplying. Joy is breaking through. I am joining my faith with yours for nights of sweet sleep, days of calm obedience, and a life that shines with the light of the One who makes all things new.
