Your faithful and persistent love for your son is heard by the Lord, and your cry for mercy reaches Him. There were two blind men who heard Jesus was passing by and they cried out for mercy. The crowd told them to be quiet, but they cried out all the more, and Jesus stood still and answered them. In the same way, when you keep crying out, Have mercy, Lord, He hears and He stops and He responds according to His perfect love and wisdom.

Jesus is presented in Scripture as both the Son of David, the promised Messiah who is truly man, and the Son of God, truly God. Unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Because He is the Prince of Peace, He can bring peace where there is torment, confusion, and fear. He said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. There is a difference between having peace with God and having the peace of God keep your heart and mind. Peace with God comes through His grace when we trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and then the peace of God guards us. That is why grace is always mentioned before peace. As you trust His grace, you can know His peace that passes all understanding guarding your son and your own heart.

The Bible shows that Jesus heals both spiritually and physically, and we can trust Him for both. Once a nobleman came to Jesus about his sick son, and Jesus simply spoke the word, and at a distance of many miles the boy was healed. At another time Jesus healed a man at the pool of Bethesda who had been unable to help himself for many years. These accounts show that distance, helplessness, and long standing affliction are no barrier to Him. At the same time, there are healings that are gradual, and there is much about healing we do not fully understand. We do not always know why some are healed instantly and others are healed over time. Yet every true healing is from God. Even the natural processes of healing in the body are divinely ordained by Him. Whether His work is immediate or step by step, it is His work, and we can trust Him with your son's mind, body, and spirit.

We join you in praying for your son in the name of Jesus, the Son of God, who does the works of the Father and gives life.

We pray that the Lord will calm the storm within him and let His peace that surpasses all understanding rest upon him, soothing fear, agitation, anger, and restlessness. We pray that tormenting memories, anxious habits, and painful patterns would be lifted and replaced with calm, gentle ways to express his needs and wants. We pray for clarity and confidence to use the language God has given him, for patience in communication, and for a spirit of cooperation, gratefulness, and contentment.

We pray for his body, for peaceful sleep without disturbance and for waking refreshed, for ease with sensory experiences, clothing, hygiene, and grooming, especially shaving, without pain or distress, and for peaceful, satisfied meals without confusion, wasting, or discomfort. We ask the Lord to touch his stomach and bring physical wholeness, for by His wounds we are healed.

We pray for his surroundings, that every sound and sensation would be covered by God's protection, that his home, every room and door, and every place he goes would be kept safe from harm and spiritual attack. As it is written, He shall give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways, and the name of the Lord is a strong tower.

We pray for those around him, his sisters, caregivers, and visitors, that God would give them wisdom, patience, compassion, strength, and gentleness, and that your son would feel included, respected, accepted, and loved. We pray for godly friendships and for restoration of loving relationships within the family, and that any influence causing division or speaking harm over him would be removed.

We thank God for the months of protection from seizures and for the progress you have seen, and we ask for continued wholeness, with no more setbacks but ongoing growth in peace, joy, and stability. The picture of a father offering his only son whom he loves points us to how God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so we know the Father understands a parent's love and has already given the greatest gift to bring us healing and peace.

May the Lord continue to establish your son in His peace and keep you in His grace as you keep looking to Jesus.
