Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for your faithful love for your son. Your prayers reflect a deep trust in the mercy and power of Jesus, and it is right to bring every detail of your son's life before the Lord, from his sleep and meals to his emotions, his health, and his relationships.

Scripture invites us to cry out for mercy as those who once called, Have mercy upon us, O Lord, thou son of David. They were told to be quiet, but they cried all the more, and Jesus stood still and heard them. He still hears that cry today. The title Son of David reminds us that Jesus is the promised Messiah, truly man, come to sit on the throne forever as God promised. And He is also the Son of God, truly God manifested in flesh, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. Because He is both man and God, He can touch our human weakness and He has divine power to heal and to save. To honor the Son is to honor the Father, and to abide in the Son is to abide in the Father. That truth is the foundation for every prayer you pray.

You have thanked God for a calm night and for months without seizures, and that gratitude honors Him. The Lord is able to heal both spiritually and physically, and we can trust Jesus for both. In the days of His ministry in Galilee, a nobleman came to Him about his sick son, and Jesus spoke the word from a distance of many miles and the Spirit of God brought healing. He is not limited by distance or by circumstance. He can speak peace over your son as he rests, as he eats, as he is cared for, and as he moves through his day.

At the same time, healing is something we do not fully understand. Scripture records one healing that came gradually, and it reminds us that God works in different ways and in different timing. Some are healed instantly, some gradually, and all true healing is divine. Even the natural processes of restoration in the body and mind are ordained by God who created them. He also brings healing to the emotions and to the mind, soothing wounds and scars that have come from past trauma and distress. It is understandable to long for complete and immediate deliverance from anxiety, from painful memories, and from difficult behaviors, and we should continue to ask for it, while also trusting the Lord when His work unfolds step by step.

The peace you are asking for is found in Jesus Himself. He said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth. There is peace with God that comes first through grace, through forgiveness and reconciliation by faith in Christ alone, and then there is the peace of God that guards the heart and mind. The order is always grace and then peace. When we know His grace, His peace can keep us even when circumstances are unsettled. He is the Prince of Peace, and when He reigns in the heart there can be calm even in a storm, even when there are loud sounds, changes, or sensory struggles.

God has not forgotten you or your son. His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace, to give you an expected end. He invites you to call upon Him and to pray, and He promises to listen. That is why you can bring every concern, his sleep, his meals without confusion or distress, his hygiene and clothing, his ability to express his needs in calm and gentle words, his joy with caregivers, sisters, and visitors, and his protection from fear and torment.

Scripture also teaches that there cannot be true peace where evil and spiritual deception are welcomed. When corruption and witchcraft filled the land, the prophet asked, what peace can there be while such things remain. The Lord alone can rebuke spirits of torment, confusion, and agitation. We do not need to rely on formulas, but we can ask Jesus, who has all judgment committed to Him and who does only what He sees the Father do, to exercise His authority, to drive away what is not of Him, to cover your home and every room and to surround your son with protection as promised in Psalm 91, and to let the peace that surpasses all understanding guard his heart and mind as promised in Philippians 4:7.

The story of Abraham offering his son Isaac, his only son whom he loved, points us to the heart of the Father who so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Abraham was spared from that sacrifice, but God did not spare His own Son. Because Jesus was given for us, we can be confident of the Father's love for your son and for your family. By His stripes we are healed, as Isaiah prophesied, and that healing includes body, mind, and spirit.

Praying for your son, I ask the Lord to grant him deep, undisturbed rest and to awaken him refreshed and joyful, to anoint his meals so he may eat with contentment and gratitude without confusion or waste, to ease any physical distress in his stomach, to calm sensory discomfort and help him with daily care, to replace rigid and anxious patterns with calm, healthy, and godly ways of communicating, and to fill him with the Holy Spirit so that fear, anger, and rage are removed and replaced with clarity, gentleness, and satisfaction. I pray for healing of the painful memories and habits that have taken root, for freedom from self injury and from anything that brings torment, and for a growing confidence to use words to express wants and needs in a way that honors God.

I pray also for your daughter, that the Lord would restore tenderness and unity between brother and sister, for your whole household including your dog and every caregiver and visitor, that God would give them wisdom, patience, compassion, and strength, and for those who provide coordination and support, that they would listen with understanding and advocate faithfully. I ask the Lord to remove harmful influences and word curses from your son's life, to block every spiritual attack, and to bring godly friendships and mentors around him.

Continue to walk in truth and to abide in the Son and in the Father, trusting that Jesus does the works of the Father and gives life to whom He will. Keep crying out for mercy, knowing He stands still to hear you, and keep thanking Him for the miracles He has already done while trusting Him for the work still to come. May the Lord establish His peace in your home, keep your son in His loving care from the top of his head to the sole of his feet, and lead him step by step toward wholeness, all for the glory of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, through whom we have life in His name. Amen.
