Your love for your son and your persistent prayers for him are heard by the Lord, and we join you in bringing him before Jesus again. Like those who cried out, Have mercy upon us, O Lord, Son of David, you have been crying out for mercy, and Jesus still stands still to hear that cry. He is the promised Messiah, truly man as the Son of David and truly God as the Son of God, the one Isaiah said would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Because He is both, He understands your son completely and He has all power to help him.

We trust Jesus for both spiritual and physical healing. Scripture shows us that Jesus once healed a nobleman's son with only a word, even though the child was many miles away. That same Jesus is not limited by distance or by what we can see. He can speak peace and healing over your son as he rests, as he eats, as he moves through his daily routines of hygiene and dressing and shaving, and as he interacts with his sisters, caregivers and visitors.

We also recognize that healing in Scripture is not always instant. Only one gradual healing is recorded in detail, and it reminds us that God often works through process. All true healing is from Him, whether it comes suddenly or gradually through the natural processes He created in the body and mind. He heals bodies, and He also heals minds and emotions, the scars and wounds left by past trauma and distress. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others walk a longer path, but we can keep trusting the One who loves your son even more than you do. As Abraham was asked to offer his only son whom he loved, a picture of how the Father gave His only begotten Son for us, we see how deep the Father's love is for your family.

Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world gives. The peace the world offers depends on circumstances, but His peace can guard the heart and mind even when circumstances are difficult. First we receive peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ, and then we learn to walk in the peace of God that keeps our hearts. That is why grace always comes before peace. When you know His grace toward you and your son, His peace can follow and sustain you. His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace, not of evil, to give you hope. He invites you to call upon Him and pray, and He promises to listen.

So we pray with you now that the Lord will wrap your son in that peace which passes all understanding and keep his heart and mind. We ask that God will calm anxiety, confusion and agitation, and replace fear, anger and restlessness with gentleness, clarity and joy. We pray that his sleep will be sweet and undisturbed, and that he will wake refreshed. We pray for his meals, that he would be able to eat peacefully, without confusion or distress, with gratitude and contentment, and that any physical discomfort in his stomach would be healed. We pray for his daily care, for dressing, hygiene and grooming, that sensory distress would be soothed and he would be able to complete these tasks with calm cooperation. We pray that the Lord would give him a confident and gentle way to express his wants and needs, and that every negative habit would be replaced with godly and healthy ways of communicating.

We also pray for protection over your home, every room and door, and over every outing and appointment, that the Lord would command His protection around him and keep him from spiritual attack, fear and nightmares. The name of the Lord is a strong tower, and we ask that every spirit of torment, confusion and fear would flee at the name of Jesus. Where there is evil and oppression there can be no true peace, but Jesus is the Prince of Peace and He has authority to rebuke those things. We ask that He would fill your son with the Holy Spirit, with love, joy and a sound mind.

We pray too for you, his sisters, and his caregivers, that God would give wisdom, patience, compassion, strength and gentleness to each one, and provide godly help where it is needed. We thank God with you for the months He has kept your son free from seizures and for every sign of progress you have seen, and we continue to declare His promise that by His wounds we are healed.

Keep crying out to Jesus with the same persistence as those who would not be silenced. He hears, He loves, and He is able. May you and your son experience today both peace with God and the peace of God guarding you, and may you feel the Father's loving arms around you as you trust His care. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
