Your heartfelt prayers for your son reflect a deep love and a sincere trust in the Lord's power and mercy, and it is good to thank Him for the peaceful night He has already granted. The Lord hears persistent cries for mercy. When two blind men heard that Jesus was passing by they cried out, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David, and though the crowd told them to be quiet they cried out all the more, and Jesus stood still to answer them. He still stands to hear those who call on Him in faith today.

That title they used, Son of David, points to Jesus as the promised Messiah, a true man descended from David to sit on the throne forever. Yet He is also the Son of God, the only begotten Son whom the Father gave because He so loved the world. Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. To honor the Son is to honor the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except those to whom the Son reveals Him. To believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, is to have life in His name. That is the foundation for both spiritual healing and physical healing, and we can trust Him for both.

Scripture shows Jesus healing in different ways. Once while He was in Galilee a nobleman came to Him about his son who was sick, and Jesus simply spoke the word, and at a distance of many miles the boy was made well. At other times healing was gradual, and in fact there is one account where healing came in stages, the only such gradual healing recorded in His ministry. Much about healing remains beyond our understanding, and we do not always know why some are healed instantly and others over a longer process. Yet every true healing is from God. He created our bodies and ordained the natural processes by which they recover, and that recovery is no less divine than an instant miracle. He also heals the mind and the emotions, soothing the scars and wounds that memories and past hurts have left behind. For your son we ask the Lord for that complete work, whether it comes in a moment or step by step, that his mind, body and spirit would know the restoring touch of Christ.

The peace you are seeking for him is found in that same Person. Jesus said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth give I unto you, let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid. There is a peace with God that comes first through grace, and then the peace of God that guards the heart and mind. That is why the New Testament so often says grace and peace, always grace first. When we have peace with God through Jesus, His peace can keep us even when circumstances are unsettled. The prophet said of the Messiah that of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, and that peace can be like a river in the heart of the believer even now. We pray that your son would know that guarding peace described in Philippians chapter four, the peace that surpasses all understanding keeping his heart and mind, calming fear, anger and agitation, and giving him gentle and calm ways to express his needs.

You mentioned confusion, torment and influences that trouble your home, including word curses and witchcraft associated with a setback. Scripture is clear that there cannot be lasting peace where such evil is at work. When a king asked a messenger, Is it peace, the answer came, What peace so long as the whoredoms and witchcrafts are so many. Where satanic and occult practices are present there is no true peace. We pray with you that the Lord would rebuke every spirit of torment, confusion and agitation and command what is not of Him to flee, and that He would surround your home, every room and doorway, your yard and vehicles, with His protection as promised in Psalm ninety one.

The Lord also says through the prophet, I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end, and He invites us, then shall you call upon me and you shall go and pray unto me and I will hearken unto you. He has not forgotten you in this long season of caregiving. His heart toward you and your children is peace, and He invites you to seek that peace and pray for it.

We join you in praying that God would anoint your son's meals and remove distress that causes discomfort, that He would ease sensory struggles with clothing and grooming and help with daily hygiene, that He would replace rigid and anxious habits with healthy, peaceful behaviors that reflect Christ, and that He would give him confidence to use calm and respectful words. We pray for a spirit of gratefulness, cooperation and contentment to rest on him through the day and for sweet, undisturbed sleep at night.

We also pray for your daughter, that the Lord would restore tenderness and love between brother and sister, and for your whole family and every caregiver, that God would grant wisdom, patience, compassion, strength and gentleness to bring out the best in your son, and provide additional godly help where it is needed. We ask that those who influence your family in harmful ways would no longer have a place to cause division, and that the Lord would bring godly friendships and mentors around your son and remove isolation and fear.

We remember with you the picture of Abraham and his son Isaac. God said, Take now thy son, thine only son whom thou lovest, and offer him, foreshadowing how the Father would later give His own beloved Son for us. Because He did not withhold His Son, we can be confident of His love and His willingness to hear and to heal according to His perfect will as revealed in Isaiah fifty three, by His stripes we are healed.

May the Lord continue to keep your son free from seizures and harm, and may He grant you all a calm and restful night and day, with no weapon formed against you prospering, as you continue to walk in truth and love, abiding in the Son and in the Father.
