It is good to hear how the Lord has brought calmer and more peaceful days for your son after those difficult days of torment and setback, and it is right to give thanks for that. When we agree together in prayer, Jesus is present among us, as He promised where two or three are gathered in His name, and He hears.

Keep bringing your son to Him with the same persistence as those two blind men who cried out, Have mercy on us, Son of David, even when the crowd told them to be quiet. They cried out all the more, and Jesus stood still and answered them. He still stands to listen when we call for mercy.

That title they used, Son of David, points to Jesus as the promised Messiah, a true man born from the line of David to sit on the throne forever. Yet He is also the Son of God, declared with power by His resurrection, God manifested in flesh, given to us as Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Because He is both man and God, He understands our weakness and He has the divine power to help. No one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son reveals Him, and the Father has committed all things to the Son so that to honor the Son is to honor the Father. When you come to Jesus for your son, you are coming to the Father through Him.

Jesus cares about both spiritual and physical healing, and we can trust Him for both. Once He spoke a word while far away and the nobleman's son was healed at that hour, even though they were miles apart. At the pool of Bethesda He healed a man who had waited so long, and throughout His ministry He showed that His works are the works of the Father, doing only what He sees the Father do, giving life to whom He wills. Scripture says that we might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and by believing have life in His name.

Healing does not always look the same. Sometimes it is immediate, sometimes it is gradual, and there is one healing where Jesus touched a man twice and his sight returned in stages. There is much about healing we do not understand, and we cannot explain why some are healed quickly and others walk through a longer process. But every true healing process is from God, for He created our bodies and the natural processes within them. He also heals the mind and the emotions, bringing calm where there has been wounding and distress. The prophet said by His stripes we are healed, and that healing reaches body, mind, and spirit.

Because one of His names is Prince of Peace, He can give what the world cannot give. He said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled. First He makes peace with God possible through His sacrifice, and then He gives the peace of God to keep our hearts and minds. That is why the letters often say grace and peace, grace first, then peace, for we cannot know His steady peace until we rest in His grace.

This is pictured long ago when Abraham was asked to offer his only son Isaac, whom he loved, on the mountain. That was a foreshadowing of what the Father Himself would do in love for the world, giving His only begotten Son, His beloved Son in whom He is well pleased, so that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life.

So I join you in praying for your son in the name of Jesus. I pray that all that is not from the Lord, every spirit of fear, torment, anxiety, confusion, restlessness, rigidity and agitation, would leave him and never return, and that it would bow to the name of Jesus. I pray for healing in his mind, body and spirit, including the challenges of autism, trauma, anxiety and sensory distress, and for the removal of all physical discomfort and pain. I pray that his meals would be peaceful, that his sense of taste and desire to eat would be restored, that he would eat with gratitude and contentment and without distress or rigidity, and that his sleep would be quiet and undisturbed and he would wake refreshed. I pray that he would be filled with the Holy Spirit and saturated with love, joy, gentleness, clarity and a peace that surpasses understanding, that he would communicate his needs and frustrations without negative habits, that he would focus with satisfaction on his activities and outings, and that he would adjust with ease to his schedule and changes around him.

I pray for his relationships, that the bond with his sisters and friends would be restored and strengthened in unconditional love, and that any division, disrespect or negative influence that brings isolation would be removed or redirected. I pray for his caregivers and for your family, that God would give wisdom, patience, discernment and knowledge to do what is right to help him be all he can be, and that He would provide dedicated, godly and gentle helpers who bring out the best in him. I pray that not one thing would enter his life unless it passes through the blood of Christ, that he would be clothed with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and that the Lord would surround him with a hedge of protection and cause ministering angels to encamp around him and guard him in all his ways, and that no weapon formed against him would prosper.

I pray that setbacks would be replaced with breakthrough, victory and success, and that your son would be a light reflecting the love and grace of the Lord wherever he goes, always feeling included, respected, accepted and loved. I thank God for the victories you have already seen and trust Him to continue His good work, for His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope. May His presence fill your home with calm, joy and safety, and may His favor rest on your son and on your whole household.
