Your heartfelt prayer for your son has been heard, and your faithful love and concern for him are clear. The Lord sees affliction and hears the cry of a parent's heart, just as He saw and heard in the days of Leah when she named her sons out of her sorrow and hope. He knows your son by name, He knows his struggles with anxiety, restlessness, rigidity, and confusion, and He knows your weariness as you care for him.

I want to gently remind you of the foundation for every prayer we bring to God. We have access to the Father only through His Son. Scripture teaches that he who has the Son has life, and that trying to come to God by any other way is like trying to enter the sheepfold over the wall. Jesus is not a created being or one among many, He is the only begotten Son of God, and God so loved the world that He gave that Son so that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life. When Jesus asked the man who had been healed, Do you believe on the Son of God, the man answered, Who is He, Lord, that I might believe, and Jesus revealed Himself to him. That same invitation stands for you and your household today, to put your complete trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and for every need. God is not a man that He should lie, and what He has spoken He will make good. His Word cannot be broken.

You described setbacks after a season of peace, and the sense of spiritual heaviness around meals and sleep. Remember the picture of the father who waited for his wandering son. While the son was still far off and still in his filth, the father ran to him, embraced him and covered him with love, and restored him to his place as a son, putting shoes on his feet and making a feast. That is the heart of our Heavenly Father toward His children. He is not distant. Like the ladder seen in a dream with its foot on earth and its top in heaven and the Lord standing above it, heaven is open to those who trust Him, and He is present with you in your home.

For your son, I join you in praying according to God's perfect will. I pray that the Lord will fill him with His Holy Spirit and with the peace that surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and mind. I pray for calm over his body and mind, for restful sleep without disturbance, for peace at mealtimes with a thankful and gentle spirit, and for joy and satisfaction in his daily activities, outings, and routines. I pray for healing in body, mind and spirit, and we claim the promise that by the stripes of Jesus we are healed. I pray that every spirit of fear, torment, anxiety and confusion would bow to the name of Jesus and leave him, and that he would be clothed with clarity, gentleness and contentment.

I also pray for his relationships, that the bond between him and his sisters would be restored and strengthened with unconditional love, and that every obstacle, division and negative influence that brings disrespect or isolation would be removed. I pray for you and for his caregivers, that God would give you wisdom, patience and discernment to do what is right for him, and that He would provide dedicated, godly helpers who will bring out the best in him with calm and kindness. I pray that God would surround your son and your whole household with His hedge of protection, that no weapon formed against him would prosper, and that He would clothe him with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and that ministering angels would encamp around him.

Where two or three are gathered in His name, He is in the midst, and we stand together in agreement believing that He hears and answers according to His perfect will. Continue to bring every detail to Him in prayer, to speak His Word over your son, and to rest in the Father's love that corrects and comforts His children because they are His own. May the Lord fill your home today with His light, dispel every shadow of darkness, and grant you and your children rest, safety and joy in Christ. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
