Peace

I need wisdom, strength, and peace. ### is a drug addict and ### too, and they had a baby. The baby tested positive for drugs. They want to stay in my house. I said yes temporarily but I need to tell them no. They need to find their own place. I am afraid for my safety and the baby's safety. God, why am I in this position? I want to die.

We understand the weight of this burden you are carrying, and we want you to know that God sees your heart and your struggle. The pain of watching loved ones trapped in addiction is immense, and the fear for the safety of that innocent baby is a heavy load. But let us remind you—you are not alone in this, and your life has purpose in Christ. The enemy wants you to feel hopeless, but God is your strength, your wisdom, and your peace. You *must* cling to Him in this storm, for He alone can guide you through it.

First, we must address something critical: your statement, *"I want to die."* These words break our hearts, for they do not align with the hope we have in Christ. Suicidal thoughts are a lie from the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But Jesus came so that you may have life—and life abundantly! Your feelings are valid, but they are not the truth. The truth is that God loves you deeply, and He has a plan for you, even in this darkness. *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future"* (Jeremiah 29:11). If you are struggling with despair, please reach out to a trusted believer, pastor, or counselor immediately. You are not meant to walk this path alone, and there is no shame in seeking help.

Now, let us speak to the situation with these family members. Addiction is a form of bondage, and when people are enslaved to sin, their choices often put others in danger—especially innocent children. The Bible calls us to love others, but love does not mean enabling sin or putting yourself and that baby in harm’s way. *"Don’t participate in the fruitless works of darkness, but instead reprove them"* (Ephesians 5:11). By allowing them to stay in your home, you may be enabling their destructive lifestyle rather than encouraging them to seek the help they desperately need. Proverbs 22:3 tells us, *"A prudent man sees danger and hides; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it."* You are being prudent by recognizing the danger. It is not unloving to set boundaries—it is wise and necessary.

That baby, created in the image of God, is the most vulnerable here. The fact that the child tested positive for drugs is a heartbreaking sign of the environment they are in. As believers, we are called to protect the innocent and speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves (Proverbs 31:8-9). If you have not already, you may need to involve child protective services or a trusted authority to ensure the baby’s safety. This is not betrayal—it is obedience to God’s call to defend the helpless.

As for your family members, they need more than a temporary place to stay—they need deliverance. Addiction is a spiritual battle as much as a physical one. *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12). They need the power of Jesus to break their chains, but they must be willing to turn to Him. You cannot force them, but you can pray for them, speak truth in love, and refuse to participate in their destructive choices.

You asked, *"God, why am I in this position?"* We don’t always understand God’s purposes in our suffering, but we know He uses even the hardest trials to refine us and draw us closer to Him. *"Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing"* (James 1:2-4). This trial is not in vain. God is working in you, even now, to strengthen your faith and dependance on Him.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our sister to You, knowing that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Lord, she is weary, afraid, and overwhelmed, but You are her peace. We ask that You would flood her heart with Your supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remove the spirit of despair from her and replace it with hope in You. Remind her that her life is precious in Your sight, and that You have a purpose for her in this season.

Give her wisdom, Lord, as she navigates this difficult situation. Show her clearly what steps to take to protect herself and that innocent child. Give her the courage to set godly boundaries and the words to speak in love but with firmness. Surround her with Your angels for protection, and let no weapon formed against her prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we also lift up these family members who are trapped in addiction. Break the chains of bondage in their lives, Lord. Convict their hearts of sin and draw them to repentance. Let them encounter Your love in a way that transforms them completely. Provide them with the help they need—whether through rehab, counseling, or godly mentors—but most of all, let them surrender to You.

We pray for that precious baby, Father. Protect this little one from harm and provide a safe, nurturing environment. Raise up godly people to care for this child and speak life into their future. Let this child grow to know You and walk in Your ways.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and despair in this situation. We declare that You are sovereign, and You will make a way where there seems to be no way. Strengthen our sister’s faith, Lord. Let her see Your hand moving in this circumstance, even when it’s hard to trust.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

Finally, sister, we urge you to stay rooted in God’s Word and in prayer. Surround yourself with believers who can support and pray for you. Do not carry this burden alone. And remember: *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). He is with you, even now. Keep your eyes on Him.

Dear friend, we're here with you, holding you up in prayer. We understand the fear and burden you're carrying, but remember, God sees you, and He's right there with you.

We want to echo what's been said, that your life has purpose in Christ, and God is your strength, wisdom, and peace. But we also want to remind you that God has given you a voice, and it's okay to use it to protect yourself and that innocent baby.

You're not alone in this. We're here for you, and so is God. He loves you deeply, and He has a plan for you, even in this darkness. Trust in Him, and let His peace guard your heart and mind.

As for your family members, they need more than a temporary place to stay. They need deliverance from their addiction. It's not easy, but you can't enable their destructive lifestyle. You have to set boundaries for their sake and the baby's.

We're praying for you, that God would fill you with His supernatural peace, give you wisdom to navigate this situation, and surround you with His angels for protection. We're also praying for your family members, that God would break the chains of addiction in their lives, and for that precious baby, that God would protect them and provide a safe environment.

Stay rooted in God's Word and in prayer. Surround yourself with believers who can support and pray for you. You don't have to carry this burden alone. God is near to those who have a broken heart, and He saves those who have a crushed spirit. He's with you, even now. Keep your eyes on Him.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We have continued to lift you up before the Lord these past days, praying earnestly for the wisdom, strength, and peace you so deeply need in this overwhelming situation. Our hearts ache with yours as we consider the weight of the burdens you are carrying—the struggle of addiction, the innocence of that precious baby, and the fear that has left you feeling trapped and desperate. You are not alone in this, and we want you to know we are still standing with you in prayer, trusting that God is making a way where there seems to be no way.

We have asked the Lord to surround you with His supernatural peace, the kind that guards hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, even when circumstances feel unbearable. We’ve prayed for divine wisdom as you navigate this difficult conversation with your loved ones, that God would give you the right words, the right timing, and the courage to set boundaries that honor Him and protect everyone involved—including you. And we’ve pleaded with the Father to break the chains of addiction in their lives, to bring healing and restoration, and to place that baby in a place of safety and love.

If God has moved in this situation—whether through clarity, provision, or a changed heart—we would love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could be the very encouragement someone else needs to keep trusting Him in their own impossible circumstances. But if you are still waiting, still wrestling, or still feeling the heaviness of this trial, we urge you to post again. Let us continue to cry out to God with you, to remind you of His promises, and to speak life over you when despair feels louder than hope. You are seen. You are loved. And your life is precious to the One who holds your future.

We are also praying for your protection—for your heart, your mind, and your home. May God expose any lies of the enemy that tell you this is too much to bear or that you are forgotten. He has not abandoned you, even in the darkness of this valley. Cling to Him, even if it’s with the last shred of faith you can muster. He is faithful, and He will carry you.

May you sense His presence in a tangible way today. May He remind you that He is your strength when you are weak, your hope when all seems lost, and your Father who loves you more than you could ever imagine. We are here, still interceding, still believing, and still trusting that God is at work—even when we cannot yet see the outcome. Keep seeking Him, dear one. He will not fail you. We pray this in Jesus’ name.
